I would love to see what people have, and get feedback on my contribution.  I have been working on screen inserts for a horizontal panel horizontal DM screen.  I will eventually add more and make it a bit nicer, but as a first release I think it is pretty great.

Please note that these are formatted for borderless 8.5 x 11 paper.

I know most horizontal screens are 3 panel.  Mine is too.  I figure you can choose your options from the 4.  If the design panel is not needed, then scrap it!

* New, updated panels * Light sources added, comments used to modify a few layouts *

I _still_ do not have a PHB, but when I do I expect to have a few more items, services, etc..  Who knows, I may need to redo the whole thing  I also am going to toy around with font and color.  Suggestions for improvements greatly appreciated.

Looks like a solid start. A couple weeks back someone posted this one which is what I currently have on my screen.

I have a new panel done!

All Basic Rules Creatures by Challenge Rating and Terrain.  XP per encounter, etc.

All you need to design encounters of varying difficulties for your party, and possibilities for random generation!

I would love feedback, especially if you notice a creature has a wrong number value, or the terrain associations are wrong.  This may be the most helpful of all the panels yet (for me)!

I also have the Savage Worlds screen.  It is a great asset.  I _really_ prefer the horizontal layout because I can actually see the table in front of me!

If you find errors or find it lacking let me know!  I think I fit just about everything on here.

Looking a lot better now. However I'd recommend working in cast times on rituals. If space is an issue I think the cast time would come up more often in play than the school of magic. I don't think that would ever be needed unless someone uses detect magic, and in that case most of the rituals are pretty obvious what school they belong to based on what they do.

Good idea.  I will have to review the casting times, as most are a single action I thought, and the few that are a round are inconsequential compared to the long ritual casting time.  Still, I will look at them and see!  If I see significant variance I will definitely include it.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks for sharing all of these. They're going to be really useful, especially for someone like me who hasn't gamed -- much less DM'd -- in years. They seem to cover all the basics, and any other info I need can be supplemented with index cards or post-it notes.

Great!  Just let me know if you do find something missing or lacking.

One of the things I am considering is to half a number of 1/2 pages (still wide, but half height) for the horizontal screen.  The thought is to have a spiral bound insert that can contain things like weapon statistics, spell statistics, etc.  You can flip through the 5-ish page laminated insert easily for additional info without jacking your layout behind the screen.  I am really stuck between that and making just a number of pages that can be inserted into a binder for quick reference.  Maybe make an insert version and a binder version of each?

A nice, half-height, spiral-bound book of info/stats/etc. would be useful in addition to the screen and it's contents. It'd take up a lot less space on the table. Or, half-size vertical, for that matter... The point is, something that's quick reference, low-real estate, and uncluttered would be fantastic. I don't need to have everything in front of me all the time, but I don't want to have to flip through 300+ pages to find the info. Not to mention having to find room on the table in front of me to open the PHB or DMG or whatever...

This is obviously something I -- anyone -- could do, but you guys all seem to be better at it.

I really think the future is in pock-size, easy-access information. Monster cards were super useful, to that end. (Do they still make them? Sheesh, I'm out of the loop...)

So ideas on what you would have in a half width or third width page?  I was thinking of the following as starters:

- Goods, services, and equipment prices in town.

- Class lists including spells, features for each level (1 class per card)

- Random monster generation (1 terrain type for each card).

- Random treasure generation

thoughts?
