How do I add a pic to the page?

I am having a problem and I wanted to know if anyone can help me. I have made a few NPC's and I wanted to post them on this thread:

Now I wanted to post pictures with the characters but I don't know how to do this. I know you need to store the picture on a different website then link it to this one but I have no earthly idea how to do that. I know how to store the pics on the alternate website but acyually linking them to this one is the problem. If anyone can give me some instructions on how to post a pic with my NPC's I would be grateful.
