Anyone have any good magic item generators? Looking for something that gives the weapon or armors bio and any stats it might have. Not just "+1 long sword" thanks for any resources or ideas guys

Wait for the DMG to come out in 2 weeks?

Otherwise, look for previouse editions like 4th for great items. Strangely there in the PHB, not the DMG.

I think he means like stories and stuff. that +1 longswords handle is shaped like a dragon, its wings make the crossguard, things like that stuff?

Magical materials, no magical effects.

Weapons accumulate negative tokens with each critical fail. Each token adds -1 to attack or damage (player's choice)

  • Steel can accumulate 3 possible tokens. After that it breaks, and is irrepairable.
  • Mithril can accumulate 2 possible tokens. After that it breaks. However it can ALWAYS be repaired.
  • Starforged Iron needs to do a "critical failure check" by rolling a second time. If the second roll is also a critical failure, the weapon accumulates a token. Starforged iron can accumulate up to 8 tokens, however it cannot be repaired... ever. It can only be reforged from scratch, at a loss of 30% of the material (so reforge a smaller weapon).
  • Etc.

Armor accumulates negative tokens with each critical success scored against it. Each token subtracts 1 from AC or Dex modifier (player's choice)

Anyways, that's my $0.02 off the top of my head.

http://www.seventhsanctum.com/

http://donjon.bin.sh/

I like both of this sites greatly. Im not sure they have exactly what your looking for, but seventhsanctum would be where i would look first. Both have a bunch of gereat generators for dm use, in multiple editions. Donjon already has a few 5e generators as well.

The 3.5 book Draconomicon has some great tables for detailed descriptions of treasure.

It doesn't tell you the story; you have to fill that in yourself; but you can generate, for example, a sword that has gold leaf filigree depicting an ancient king on the crossguard.
