If a creature has been knocked unconscious (by, say, a sleep spell), and it's another creature's turn, how would you roll the maneuver of running up and kicking the sleeping creature? Would you rule the kick as an action, or a free "interact with object"? The PHB says that kicking a small stone is a free action, but not sure about kicking a sleeping creature (to wake him up)? I am wondering because if it's a free action, the creature could first do some type of ranged attack against an enemy, and then run over and kick his comrade to wake him up?
Secondly, would kicking wake him up, or do you say he has to shake or slap him, as the PHB says? If shaking or slapping, would you rule those as free "interact with objects", or would they constitute separate actions? |

If, however, the creature is merely sleeping normally, a swift kick as a free action might be enough to wake them up. |
