#1 Angel7 May 30, 2015 1:31:06	A favorite past time of mine as a gamer has always been customizing a screen to have everything i need accessible to me as well as the fun of covering the backside with a collage of iconic imagery. While I havent seen the 5e or tyranny screens I have little doubt that I would want to personalize it to suit my needs and taste.My question for you is... what info in the PHB would deserve real estate on YOUR DM screen? weapon table? random encounter lists? skill summary? What makes the cut on those 4 boards in your game?
#2 Imaculata May 30, 2015 3:04:52	Well I play 3rd edition, so my list would obviously differ from that of 5e edition players. But I've always been surprised by how DM screens often contain a lot of information that I never need.   Least used info that are on my current DM screen:     Never used: Light sources and illumination (light distance and duration of various sources) Maximum distance for spot checks (Never used) Armored/emcumbered speeds Movement and distance Ability modifiers (wouldn't any DM know this by heart?) Size and armor class of objects (seriously?) Items affected by magical attacks (Never ever used) Decreasing weapon damage by size Increasing weapon damage by size Climb check DC's (What DM doesn't just make this up on the spot?) Listen check DC's (Same story)   Sometimes useful, but still hardly used: Which actions provoke attacks of opportunity Which skills provoke attacks of opportunity Turning undead table Attack roll modifiers Armor class modifiers Concentration check DC's Detect Magic table Detect Evil table Hampered movement table   Very useful: The scatter table Break DC's of objects, hardness and hitpoints Influencing npc attitudes   Things that I would like to have on my DM screen, but aren't: A list of names of important characters from my campaign A list of all the faction and ship names, and their captains, in my campaign My custom weather table A generic loot table for dungeons My custom gunpowder rules and missfire table
#3 CCS May 30, 2015 15:34:19	Not sure yet what all I'd want on a 5e screen. Right now I'm simply using my 4e screen as a shield to conceal the monster minis. I like it's height. My favorite editions (1e) screen is near perfect though....
#4 AndrewJO May 31, 2015 14:21:55	Probably not what you're looking for, but if I was DMing I'd use a small white board as a screen. I'd write important details (names mostly) and notes on one side of the board. The other side of the board would be reserved for rules that I have not yet memorized and had to look up. Once I've memorized the rule I would remove it from the board.
#5 OGRE1984 Jun 01, 2015 3:10:30	a lot of unused space on the 5E screen, i have murder in baldur's gate and i love that screen! name generator NPC generator combat actions [useful for new to system users] conditions movement, terrain, & environment tables + random weather table weapon & armor chart world map on outside  common loot table perhaps a dry erase area for initiative tracking   basically anything to help me 'wing' a session

#7 Angel7 Jun 01, 2015 21:08:07	Fantastic ideas ! I realize this is all completely subjective, but I'm thinking that often used tables will probably top my list. Looking forward to sharing my own once I spend more time with the DMG.
