| #1transcendantviewerAug 21, 2015 0:07:43 | I remember hearing that someone put together a table of 1000 critical fumbles, ranging from minor to silly, to hilariouss, to downright devastating. Anyone else remember something like that? If not, I'd really like to hear from you guys if there's a good critical fumble table out there. I'm hoping to use them to occasionally spice up my game. |
| #2WorBladeAug 21, 2015 14:32:35 | I liked the Good Hits, Bad Misses table from the old edition of Dragon magazine. You can search "Good Hits & Bad misses Dragon Magazine" and find copies of it on line. Not 1,0000 but enough fumbles. |
| #3BRJNAug 21, 2015 17:34:00 | IME, you have to make up a Critical Fumble on the spot, to get something appropriate to the situation. (The pre-written tables don't know if you are shooting a bow, smashing with a mace, or swinging from the chandelier.) YMMV.
Best CF that I have used was with a bunch of 5th-grade kids. One - the most warrior-like-equipped of the group - tried to bow-and-arrow his target and rolled a '1'. I ad-libbed and pantomimed "You shoot the bow and are still holding the arrow. The bow wobbles a little way ahead of you and falls to the ground. (It's in the next square and you can move over next turn to pick it up.)" The kid whose character was involved, invited me to his high-school graduation party and asked me if I remembered the event !
