Hey all,

I just put a long 4 year custom campaign to bed. As is always the case my mind is now in turbo mode, generating ideas for a new one. Here's what I've got so far - what do people think? Do people have suggestions on how to improve/develop it?

  • Hundreds of years ago “the doom” occurred. A mysterious event that warped the face of the land.
  • Relics of the doom have stood for time immemorial.
    • Not much is known about the few buildings that remain; and they largely lie undisturbed, for too many stories of horror and mystery surround them.
  • The landscape is post-apocalyptic; filled with strange bioluminescent fauna and flora, dusty deserts and huge craters.
  • There is a large drought, and water and other resources are drying up.
    • There will soon not be enough water for the next harvest in the village where the PCs begin.
  • The last of the village's water is stolen by a nearby gang, and the players must confront them
    • On defeating the gang the PCs hear tell of a green land far away.
  • Sci-fi guns, explosives, robots, and vehicles exist; though in short supply. Guns are typically handed down from one generation to the next. Vehicles are very rare, at least where the PCs begin.
  • I would like to do some work with time-travel and parallel universes, but haven't given too much consideration yet.

Would love to know what you guys  think. Bit Mad Max/Interstellar. Cheers!

If you're including time travel, keep in mind that paradoxes aboud everywhere, so unless you're using the parallel universe theory, you even stepping one second back in time and changing anything could cause a huge change. That aside, this sounds like it could be an interesting campaign.

I strongly recommend a nice little game called Apocalypse World.

Its on my regular rotation of campaigns. Very fun, does damn near everything you're saying you want. Is NOT d&d.
