| #1jdkjpelsApr 19, 2015 17:04:47 | So I'm Dmingg a group and one of my players managed to become the lord of a small town, which I have with a small militia and a small keep We're just trying to figure out how to manage all the economic bits such as taxation, income, setting up a castellan and civilian council and how much it costs to keep the town running. Any Ideas? |

Other options that I've used are the Book of the River Kingdoms (Pathfinder's Kingmaker adventure path standalone book), Ultimate Campaign (Pathfinder), Stronghold Builder's Guidebook (D&D 3.X), and Birthright Campaign Setting (AD&D 2E) if you have access to any of them. If you don't, ACKS is in my opinion the best, and is also the cheapest and easiest to get a copy of. |

How well did crops grow- 36, damn it was a tough season
how often did travlers and traders come through- 44, all the normal people still dropped by, but it was tough to trade with little food
was there any sickness?- 85, damn, nothing out of the normal, and certinally no plauges or deaths to speak of because of it
was there any attacks from bandits, ravenous humanoids (orcs, goblinoids, gnolls) 38- one good thing about lack of food, no monsters to attract
could people pay taxes- 71- with such lean crops and little trading, taxes where relieved quickly, and most major buisnesses paid on time in full.
So a tight year/what ever time frame you want, but no serious problems, besides a smaller tax stream.

Also, the old Castle Guide had similar rules and whatnot. |
