| #1BaptorJul 31, 2014 18:24:06 | I've been wanting to make my own monsters, and I've been comparing/contrasting monsters in the Playtest Bestiary in an attempt to uncover how they are calculating monster DC's for their special attacks (ex. dragon's breath weapon). I cannot find a common thread at all. Used to they were almost all based on Charisma, but taking 8+Prof mod+abilitiy score didn't add up on some monsters. In fact, I've been at a loss to find any unifying theory. |
| #2BaptorAug 02, 2014 18:38:37 | Wow, I am either the only DM wanting to create his own monsters (unlikely) or no one can figure out what system WotC is using for DC's (more likely) or no one cares enough to check it since we are so close to a Monster Manual release (most likely). |
