I am literally just posting my first post today, but hope to continue posting far into the future. I've been a DM for well over 10 years and needed a place to share some insights and thought I have as I work on my own stuff. I've been encouraged to give it ago here before on an old name I don't remember, but never got around to doing it. But now I am. The first post is about GMs getting a bit of setting ADD and why players may find themselves rolling a lot of characters. The post is really only the tip of an iceberg for the subject but I hope it relates why this can happen and why not to get too upset with your game master for it.
I appreciate anyone who goes and checks it out. I would love any feed back here or there on layout (which I need to work on still) and subject matter moving into the future. Thanks everyone!

1.) Self promotion is key. 2.) Advertising "New Blog" is essentially giving me homework. 3.) IMO, the best thing to do is write, excerpt a section here, link to your blog, and invite discussion. That'll draw more than "New Blog, plz view." 4.) Continue contributing and forge personal relationships with your audience. 5.) Keep writing.
Some insight. 1.) I'm terrible at self promotion. So I cross post here AND at my blog. 2.) It's still not enough. 3.) I don't write enough either. And I often hold off posting if something isn't perfect; which is a mistake. 4.) I use the blog as a kind of repository for ideas, articles, concepts, and techniques which I link to when I don't want to repeat myself again and again. I find that works very well.
Good luck! |

I think I am going to try and write something every week even if its just a story or anecdote from my games. I also am going to resolve myself to being active here as well. |
