| #1Sir_Rides_On_PonyJul 07, 2014 2:02:42 | So a few friends and I have recently gotten into D&D and i got rope into playing the DM. All of us have never play before so we've had to bend the rules a bit in the past. I've still learn the rules and I’ve run into some problems, mostly with one player.
The first problem is his wolf. When we first start he keep bugging me about getting a wolf as a pet and I eventually gave in( he also kidnap as a cub from its den and kill its mother, that he now wears as armor). I've tried to find the rule for animal companions (I should probably mention we are using 4 edition rules) but haven't been able to find any real info on it. I really just need to know a few thing 1. Can a rouge tame an animal 2. What kinds of commands can he give the wolf 3. Can it be used in combat?
The second biggest problem is the character himself (the same rouge who own the wolf) he play an Eladrn and has the stupid fey step thing. It’s been the biggest thorn in my side and is a huge problem to the story. I can't tie him up or keep him behind a gate because he can just fey step through. I was wondering if anyone had some easy way to counter this without being to targeting the player.
(a side note its 5am when i wrote this so if it doesn't make sense or there a lot of spelling errors im sorry :P) |

Problem is that while those wolves would never attack her, she couldn't trust them around other people and had to keep them on giant thick chains that shed lug around with her. So i think id have some sort of 1 in 20 chance of it trying to attack a friendly. Also, the wolves would attack any pieces of paper, or things that loomed like paper, so i think id make them have some weird sort of quirk like that |

Instead of trying to figure out how to defeat his wolf and character just talk to the player and let him know that a GM is suppose to be having fun too and his setup is not only hurting the game overall but making it hard for you to have fun. See if you can come to a compromise, if you can't remove him from the game. One player can ruin the fun for all and it sounds like this player s more interested in "his" fun than the group as a whole. |

Wolf; level 2 skirmisher As a Standard Action you can command the wolf to perform one of the following tricks: Come: The wolf takes up to two Move actions to move towards you, without intentionally putting itself in harm Attack: The wolf can make a Move Action and then use a Bite power as a Standard Action. Guard: The wolf occupies a square adjacent to you, and can use the Defend power each round as an Immediate Reaction. It cannot take any other actions.
