| #1PantzillaSep 15, 2014 6:40:42 | Hello all,
I made this account because i could not find the answers I needed. I am hoping some one here may be able to help.
1.) I am currently looking for an APP/Program ( I have both a Windows 8 laptop/tablet convertable and an Android tablet), that will allow me to load a dungeon or map and instead of the players having to draw it out on graph paper, I want to be able to touch or click an area and have it appear while the rest of the map stays blacked out. I hope that makes sense.
2.) I have been playing since AD&D way back when so I have been DMing for quite some time but I have a problem now I am having a tough time with. My nephews are just old enough now to start playing so I started an adventure for them. I have 2 friends comming by to game with them and help them along with rules and strategy. Now a few of my nephews friends seen them playing and want to join. I have never been one to be able to tell some one they can not join into a game so now I have 9 players and myself DMing. Keeping order is not a problem I handle that fine and everything remains running smoothly. The problem is with so many people I am finding it difficult to create worthy combats scenarios. we are using 3.5 because I did not like 4 to much, and they are all lvl 3. I thought CR5 encounters would work but not as well as I would have hoped. Does any one have any suggetions on how to figure the CR on LARGE campaign groups?
Thank you in advance for any and all help.
GAH i just realized this is the wrong DM forum sorry. |

2. Try the previous editions forum. |

You're probably better off combining several appropriate-CR groups into one encounter rather than using high-CR creatures when you're running for a large party. Higher-CR encounters may make assumptions about the abilities and resources of the party that aren't true in the case of yours. |

Roll20 will add the value of having tokens for players, and the ability to reveal areas by simple geometric shapes being applied to reveal. Paid access to roll20 will allow vision blocking lines and light sources to reveal as the tokens are moved. This can also be accomplished in rptools for free, though rptools probably has a bit more of a learning curve and someone always has Java problems. If you're playing locally though and just want a screen to show the players (rather than having people connect to the server) then either one works fine. |
