Ranger Spell Focus

Sorry if I am way off on this, at work without my PHB.

During our game this past week a Ranger in my game leveld up and gets some spells. The question was, Does the rangers bow count as his spell casting focus? Or does he need to go out and gather the M part of the spells?

Rangers don't have a spellcasting focus.

Feb 19, 2015 8:16:05 He needs to gather those M parts. Of course as the DM you can always alter the rules & allow his bow to count or just waive the components.
