So one of my players did what most of us suggest doing on these boards…saying something politely and respectfully when you have issues with a game. They were really minor complaints: stinginess with treasure on my part, a better grasp on how Renown is being gained, and more narratively serial, rather than episodic adventures.

The gold is something I’ll admit has been a problem since attendance is, as the one player said, “spikey.” Sometimes we have two people, sometimes six, which can make determining the right amount of treasure difficult. But it’s all stuff I can work on. I replied to the player, thanking him for his input, and said that I would try to address his concerns/suggestions.

After seeing this very course of action advocated on these boards so many times, I guess I just want to thank everyone. It definitely made me more receptive to receiving this sort of feedback, which definitely can help me become a better a DM, and create better adventures.

Neat! I've had the same. One of my old-school players thinks the game is advancing too quickly (too many levels, too fast).

We talked it out. It's easier to do openly and honestly.
