I like the idea of a retired adventurer gone soft, or having lost some abilities in an accident or through some supernatural force (like the breaking of a warlock pact) who has to get back in the game. To that end I've created my own Retired Adventurer background. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Like perhaps a choice of a single skill to gain proficiency in or a tool proficiency of your choice. Either way, it's nice and I'd allow it in my games. I'd probably customize it slightly, but it'd generally remain as-is. Though I do have one concern: Doesn't the feature make it feel more like how a folk hero should? |
