Where there is wind, I stand strong and tall,
but where there is little, I drop weak and small.
My peak rages white, when my fury does come,
No men will I spare, and all rock be undone.

What am I?

Goddamn I love the internet, and Austin Powers!

Correct!

Wrapped in my veil, you’re as blind as can be,

So care with your steps, when engulfed by me.

The travellers’ bane, I’ll lead you to die,
but one whip of wind, and away I will fly.
What am I?

Aha, it could be a sail! I am making these up as I go for a D&D sesh, will post as I go (they'll probably get worse!)

Purveyor of chaos, I descend in spirals,
To smother the earth, in coats and piles,
I’ll stab at your eyes, and tear at your sleeves,

You’d best get inside, or I fear you’ll freeze.
What am I?

Blizzard/snowstorm is correct!

Wind gives me life, though by a single strand.

There's also the tried and true "make up a cool sounding riddle with no idea what the answer actually is and say no to answers a few times until you think they've worked hard enough" method.

Ok, this is more of a maths one I'm working on. I'm not sure I'd actually put it in a dangerous situation, more of a downtime bonus loot

You hear the sinister click of the doors locking, and an hourglass begins trickling sand. You are trapped in the room, and you are certain you don’t want to find out what happens when the hourglass runs out. There is a pedestal in the centre of the room. On it two circles are placed on top of one another. The top circle is smaller and seems to be able to rotate whilst the lower is fixed and wider. Both circles are divided into ten segments that seem to be able to align with one another. The inner circle is labelled 0-9, whilst the outer circle is filled with unusual symbols, two of which are blank. On the side of the pillar are the numbers 4, 8 and 1. You will have to decipher the value of these blank spaces in order to shut down the trap.

You dig out the letter you found earlier in the dungeon and sure enough the first symbol is the same:

"T+ 2 + 6 + 2 + 5 + 8 + 5 + 4 + 7 +1"

Hint 1:

Show
You notice the hourglass has a "T = 3" marked on it

the third line contain one 2 and one 1

and so on untill you find the answer: one 1 - one 3 - to 1 - three 2 and finally one 1

So I just ran a session with a few of these riddles, not knowing how they would go down.  If anyone's interested, here's how the experience went -

[First Riddle]

I'm there at every harvest,

and I'm there at your last breath.

I bring food on to the table,

yet am synonymous with death.

Answer: A Scythe

Time to answer: It took my group of 5 people about 5 seconds to answer this riddle.

[Second Riddle]

I am light as a feather and I can be strong, short and deep. I bring life, but none can hold me for long.

Answer: Breath

Time to answer: Again, it took my group of 5 people about 5 seconds to answer this.

[Third Riddle]

There are four siblings in this world, all born together. The first runs and never wearies. The second eats and is never full. The third drinks and is always thirsty. The fourth sings a song forever.

The answer is: Water, fire, earth, wind.

Time to answer: This one took about a minute.

[Fourth Riddle]

"There is a thing that nothing is, and yet it has a name.

It's sometimes tall and sometimes short, joins our talks, joins our sport, and plays at every game."

Answer: A Shadow

Time to answer: So this one took 5 minutes, and they guessed incorrectly.  After learning the answer, a few members were a bit upset because the riddle was confusing.

[Fifth Riddle]

I am the beginning of the end, the end of every place. I am the beginning of eternity, the end of time and space. What am I?

Answer: The Letter 'E'

Time to answer: less than 5 seconds.  This riddle is amazing… if no one's heard it before, but its somewhat well known and more than half the group had heard this one before.

If I were to run this all over again, I would have swapped the first 2 riddles and the last one, with riddlesthat are a bit more challenging.  And I would have swapped the fourth one with one that's less confusing.

I have a rooftop,

but a house I am not.

I provide shelter when it rains,

and shade when it's hot.

I stand alone, surrounded by grass,

a place of tranquility at the end of a path.

My benches belong mostly to the upper class.

But adventurer beware! Do not awaken my wrath!

I have seen cities be razed, and seen empires rise.

I have seen their splendor, and their inevitable demise.

I am a timeless looming threat. Horriffic and unique.

None can imagine the destruction I'll wreak.

When I appear, all that was will be undone.

A fight against me can simply not be won.

Of all the titans in the world, I am the pinnacle.

To defeat me in battle, would require a miracle.
