| #1SleepsterDec 02, 2014 13:06:36 | It's really not a big deal and in the end I'm probably the one that has to decide whether or not to permit it but i wanna ask someone with more experience than me what will he do in this situation (DMing for the first time). Some of my players, 2 to be exact, often want to do side adventures alone, without the other members of the party, in-between sessions. And i were ok with that but their characters had to leave the party because one of them screwed hard and ran away in a far away village. Thing is they now want us to roleplay what happens with their old characters (the ones that ran away) while they are in the party with their new characters. Would you let them roleplay their old characters during the "dnd free time" or not?
PS: We're using skype while roleplaying outside of sessions. |

If they are really trying to disrupt things so they can GM again, they are toxic people. |

They want to continue adventuring with those other characters in times when the regular group isn't meeting? Sounds like a spin-off campaign to me. Just don't have them intertwine. That is....if you WANT to run a 2nd campaign. |
| #8OoftaMegDec 04, 2014 8:18:45 | If YOU want to run a second campaign that's fine, but it's totally up to you. You could even have each group occasionally hear about the other group. However if it was my campaign the minute they created other characters, the first set of characters became NPCs. |
