| #1supreme_slayerDec 15, 2014 12:24:13 | I am planning on starting a new campaign soon, with the one I'm running right now ending fairly soon. For this, considering the DMG offered very little in the way of additional races and guidelines, I decided to make my own using cues from the Monster Manual, as well as create one my friend wanted to see. I would like some advice on these if possible before I implement them, mainly which ones may be overpowered.
Half-Ooze – The fruits of a wizard's experiment to fuse an ooze's maleable form with that of a humanoid's, half oozes are mostly-solid, fluid-apparent creatures with humanoid features including a defined head, arms, legs, and eyes. Show Ability Score Increase: +2 Constitution Age: Half-oozes unfortunately can live short lives as little as thirty years, but some well fed may be lucky enough to live well into their second century. Alignment: Their ooze counterpart incapable of any coherent thought, it is the humanoid side that best controls an ooze's alignment. While some may have the same alignment as their creator, half-oozes come in all varieties and alignments. Size: In their natural upright state, half-oozes can stand anywhere from 4 feet to 6 feet tall and average about 140 pounds. Their size is Medium. Speed: Your walking speed is 20 feet. Your speed is not reduced by wearing heavy armor. Blindsight: Their gelatinous bodies are able to sense vibrations and changes of light in their immediate area. You can sense things within 10 feet of yourself even if you are blinded, but cannot discern color. Ooze Resistance: You resist acid damage. Squishable: You can squash and manipulate your body in ways other beings find impossible, allowing you to scoot past others as you move. While not wearing heavy armor, you may move through the spaces of any medium or larger creatures. Languages: You know common and one other language. Subrace: There are 4 varities of oozes to choose from: Black, Gel, Gray, and Ochre Jelly.
Black Ooze Ability Score Increase: +1 Dexterity Improved Ooze Resistance: You also resist Cold damage.
Gel Ooze Ability Score Increase: Increase your Consitution by an additional 1. Translucent Skin: Due to your skin's mostly clear nature, you have Advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide.
Gray Ooze Ability Score Increase: +1 Charisma Improved Ooze Resistance: You also resist Fire damage.
Ochre Jelly Ability Score Increase: +1 Intelligence Improved Ooze Resistance: You also resist Lightning damage. |

Gnolls and Hobgobins make excellent extra races, but they would obviously not be on par with something like an Illithid. |
| #3supreme_slayerDec 15, 2014 14:52:19 | I know that as far as relations go, Illithids aren't on good terms with other races by a longshot. Power-wise, a normal Illithid would also be too strong to be a PC. Which is why I chose to make it a lesser Illithid. If I had remembered the name of them from previous editions, I would have listed it. But basically they're the rejected cousins/failed growth experiments of Ilithids.
The relations with other races can be altered/waved depending on the setting, which of course as a DM is up to me. |

| #5Fall3n0Dec 18, 2014 10:22:02 | I posted my playable Half-Ogre race. I'm currently have them playable in my Campaign. http://community.wizards.com/forum/dungeon-master-help/threads/4171086 |
