Alright, so basically I am trying to convert some monsters from the Pathfinder Kingmaker campaign to 5e, but would like some input on them. I typed up this thread once but accidentally closed the tab, so forgive me for just dumping this without too much additional information...

Multiattack (Make two attacks, only one of which can be Frightful Gaze)

+1 Ball and Chain:. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (ld10 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Gaze: Range 60 ft. Target creature must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or take 2d6 psychic damage and be frightened for 1 minute. May make a save at the end of each of its turns.

I also have an NPC who is essentially a Paladin 2/Barbarian (Berserker) 3 with 88 Health, 17 AC (chainmail, defensive fighting stle), DC 13 saves, +6 to attack, and deals 2d6+3 damage with his greatsword. Not sure how to calculate his CR exactly...

The mite conversion seriously ramps up their lethality, not a CR 1/4. It's been awhile, but as I recall they are supposed to be low hit point, low damage buggers (Str-based in Pathfinder) that had (in Pathfinder) minor damage reduction to anything not cold iron. I also thought they had 1 spell (Bane) when they bulged their eyes.  Anyways, unless you've bumped up your campaign difficulty, I'd tone them down. Even if your conversion isn't canon, it's ok. Just have them do 1d6-1 damage (they hit often but not for much damage) or the like, reduce the hp, give them resistance to non-cold iron weapons but knock their hit points down by half or more.  Really, you could just take the Pathfinder monster and leave it alone for the most part, just accomodate for saving throws and a better attack. D&D gives you freedom to create for the needs of the campaign.  In any case, the mites shouldn't be any stronger than their nemeses, kobolds.

Mites used to be a CR 1/8 in pathfinder, but this is a campaign for level 4 players, and I don't want to have to send literal swarms after them, so I converted from a Deep Gnome. The changes made include 1 less AC (only light armor), +1 average damage (but -1 max damage), a higher Dex but lower Str, Int, and Cha, and replacing Disguise Self and Nondetection for Bane, Prestidigitation, and Animal Friendship. Attempting to take into account Bane and/or poisoning, their CR seems to calculate to 1/4 still, but I have no idea if I'm doing it wrong or not.

EDIT: LOL. I don't know why I kept saing 1/4. They are supposed to be a 1/2 CR.
