For instance, I wouldn't find it game breaking to have the divine casters switch their cantrips every morning, or have the wizard be able to put new cantrips in his spellbook and decide each morning which he wants to prepare.
Do you see any problem with that? Because as of now I find it strange that cantrips are ''locked'' but other spells can be played with. It leaves a sense that cantrips are harder to handle than level 1-9 spells. |

But as cantrips (any of them - even racially or feat acquired) advance with character level as opposed to class level, allowing players to "prepare" new cantrips daily, does grant a slight bump in power versatility. One could envision a game where cantrips were the soul magical powers offered to casters and they would still be able to pack a wallop base on the non-limited use.
It is understandable because of the auto-scaling potential of cantrips, some might view daily cantrip preparation as overpowering casters. That said, I allow it my games and as yet, it hasn't been a problem. |

You might think about adding a bit more flexability to the Bard, Sorcerer and Warlock if you make this change.

| #8ankiyavonNov 29, 2014 18:39:06 | I certainly wouldn't consider it game breaking.
I would definitely consider doing some similar small chance to the known-spells casters if you do this and have anyone who wants to play one. |
