#1 BoldItalic Aug 20, 2014 3:55:44	In last night's session, our cleric, who knows the Thaumaturgy cantrip and had prepared the Command spell, wanted to know if she could use Thaumaturgy to enhance the power of her voice threefold, then cast Command (loudly) on a target beyond the normal 60ft range.   On the fly, I allowed it and ruled that the range was extended to 100ft. (Three times the range seemed too much, but sqrt(3) - allowing for an inverse square law - seemed about right and that works out to about 100ft.)   The cleric was happy because the target was about 80ft away.   Any thoughts?

#3 iserith Aug 20, 2014 6:30:04	To get an additional benefit out of an action, I will tend to ask the player to take a risk or pay a cost. In this case, perhaps the target has advantage on the saving throw or has a normal save, but if he succeeds, it redirects to an ally because it's so loud. (Assuming any of that made sense in context.)
