| #1dungeonmasterforhireJul 30, 2015 3:59:14 | Ok, here's the situation. The party cleric is found a room full of 8 ghouls and 2 ghasts. Right now he is in the doorway and within the 10' radius of 3 ghouls and 1 ghast which, according to the monster manual, would prompt him to make a saving throw versus poison because of their stench.
Question: Would he make 4 saves then? If he were to fail all four saves, would he then have a -8 to his "to hit" roll since a single fail results in -2 to hit penalty?
OR if he decides to enter the room instead (allowing himself to be surrounded by all ten creatures), would that initiate all ten saves, possibly resulting in a maximum -20 to hit roll penalty (probably only -19 as there is no such thing as a zero or negative attack roll), or is the save only once per encounter despite the number of creatures present? |
