Wave Echo Cave profits?

On page 51 of the Lost Mines of Phandelver booklet it says that Gundren rewards the party with 10% of the profits of Wave Echo Cave mine.

So my questions are:

What amount is this 10%?

When do the party get it, straight away, after a month, a year?

If it's a figure the DM has to make up then what should it be for a 5th level party?

There have been a couple of threads like this in the past.  If the search function gave meaningful results...

If memory serves some DMs have ruled that it offers enough that that the PCs can live a comfortable lifestyle and you don't have to harp on them about inventory of the little things - arrows, rations, etc. unless you are far from an area to resupply.

Like any mining operation, there is no revenue straight away, just costs.  The Rockseeker brothers have to get the rest of their clan to relocate, bring in serious mining equipment and clean the place up.  I'd say 3 months minimum before a profit is seen.  A comfortable lifestyle is 2gp/day

2gp x 4 characters x 30 days = 240 gp/month is what I'm going to hand out.

Yeah the search feature yielded... no results.

Thanks akr71, I'll go with your suggestion 240gp/month after 3 months.

Feel free to hand out more.  However then you get stuck being the PCs accountants.  I like the idea of a comfortable lifestyle, they don't have to worry about money, but its not so much that they should give up adventuring

Well the adventure pretty much ends when you get it, but if you want to continue with those characters I guess it's relevant.

I personally don't give out any money or anything I simple rule that they no longer have to pay for any lifestyle expenses and still have a comfortable lifestyle.

You have a few options not yet discussed:

1) The party has money deposited at the First Bank of the Sword Coast in their account.  This allows them to just draw on it when wanted (and in civilized area).

2) The party receives a bag of gold nuggets &c every so often.  They have to deposit it in the bank, mint coins, or whatever.

3) Some money arrives every month, like a dividend payment.  I prefer this due to ease of bookkeeping.

4) The money arrives in one big dollop once per year.  This enables XL purchases from time to time.

For ease of use, 1 + 3 is preferred.

If your campaign will be about becoming merchant lords, 2 is full of potential plot hooks.  STOP THIEF !

2 + 4 can allow the PCs to be a patron for a caravan or ship, or to "remember their roots" by bodyguarding the aforesaid bag of gold while in transit.
