#1 Miladoon Jan 15, 2015 13:11:39	I am currently thinking about running a 5E Mystara campaign.  I want to find and replace humans with half-orcs, haflings with tieflings, dwarves with dragonborn, but I can't decide to replace elves with gnomes or go with something else.   Any thoughts?
#2 AaronOfBarbaria Jan 15, 2015 16:23:02	I think I need some clarification as to what you are meaning before I have any idea what to think of it. Are you meaning that the five shires would be full of folk that have the mechanics of tieflings but the fluff of hobbits with the serial numbers filed off still applies, that the five shires would actually not have anything hobbit-like but tieflings instead, or something else?
#3 Miladoon Jan 15, 2015 18:03:54	Ahya.  Removing the halflings and putting in tieflings.  Call it the Five Fires.  Karameikos and all the earth-mimic lands would retain their names but inject more orc in the culture.  I can't decide to put forest gnomes in Alfheim and tinker gnomes in highforge or make up another player race.
#4 AaronOfBarbaria Jan 15, 2015 18:44:58	Ah, so an alternate dimension Mystara where things are mostly the same, but a few significant differences here and there dramatically change the flow and feel of things... that could be very entertaining.   I'd leave tinker gnomes as a fill-in for sky gnomes, but fill the forests of Alfheim with something more along the lines of shadow elves re-surfaced, or the take on drow from Eberron- but then, I have gnome-aversion.

#6 Miladoon Jan 15, 2015 21:23:40	Yeah, yeah.  Alternate dimension Mystara, exactly.    I am not a big gnome fan either, but I was inspired by the latest live D&D game on twitch.  There was a gnome paladin in the group.  Make something of the Oath of Ancients in Alfheim.  Anyways.   Plant people?  Like Myconids?  That might be freaky to have a bunch of Myconid circles running about topside.
#7 AaronOfBarbaria Jan 15, 2015 22:33:07	I believe CCS was refering to the Wilden race, rather than myconids - but changing out Alfheim for a massive fungal forest ruled over by myconids sounds like exactly what I wish I'd have thought of earlier.
#8 Miladoon Jan 16, 2015 8:25:53	Ah Wilden.  I don't remember that much of 4E, but I only have one PHB.    Myconids underneath the canopy of Alfheim and gnomes living atop the branches...hmmm. Flashbacks to the animated movie Wizards
