| #1SillyMindDec 03, 2014 8:01:28 | I'm interested to know more about other people's campaign:

For my campaign:

| #4AaronOfBarbariaDec 03, 2014 10:01:37 | For brevity, I'll contain my answers to my D&D campaign preferences, rather than muddy the waters with the other 3 games I'm running at different points throughout the week.

| #11billeDec 03, 2014 14:41:58 | 1. 5 players, sometimes six 2. started at level one (finished the 4th ed campaign at level 7) 3. 3 hours, weekly 4. playing LMOP, a couple of weeks in game time 5. should level up to 4 next session, should finish the campaign at level 5 6. will finish LMOP at 5th I should think, after about 12-13 sessions. Was planning to start a new campaign of my own devising in Tethyr (Forgotten Realms), but work commitments seem likely to curtail my D&D time so will probably opt for HotDQ, starting at level 1 with new characters and continuing on til the bitter end (unless the January elemental adventure proves to be unmissable), although any surviving characters from LMOP will still exist in the game world. |
| #12CCSDec 03, 2014 22:13:16 | Q: How many players do you have? A: 3-5. Q:At what level did you start your campaign? A: Always at 1st. Q:How many hours is your typical session and how often do you play? A: 4-5 hours, once a week. Well, that's the plan anyways.... Q: What is the ''in game'' timeframe of your campaign? A: It varies, but typically months. The current PF one is spanning years. Q: At what pace do your PCs level up - what level are they now? A: Wether we're using xp or milestones, the real answer is "at the speed of plot". The PF game is @ 7th lv after 2 years of in-game time (real world time of about 1 year). Q: At what level do you expect to end your campaign A: We never plan an ending. We simply play until we feel we've told the story or decide to do something else. Or until a TPK occurs in such a way where there is no continuing the story of those characters. |
| #13CaliburnDec 04, 2014 3:47:30 | 1. How many players do you have?
6 Players
2. At what level did you start your campaign?
1st level
3. How many hours is your typical session and how often do you play?
12-14 hours per session, one Saturday session per 4 weeks
4. What is the ''in game'' timeframe of your campaign?
Converted Lost Mines of Phandelver to being set in Greyhawk (Village of Five Oaks/Gnarley Forest) and they have been there about a month so far. Campaign start was 591 CY in the Greyhawk calendar.
5. At what pace do your PCs level up - what level are they now?
They have just hit 3rd level. Party consists of; Human Male Life Cleric (God: Pelor), Human Male Protection Oath Paladin (God: Pelor), Female Half-Elf Fey Pact Warlock (Patron: Razcoreth, Dragon of Dreams), Half-Elf Valour Bard, Mountain Dwarf Collossus Slayer Ranger, Mountain Dwarf Battlemaster Fighter.
There was a 1 week downtime for 2nd level and a Ritual at the Shrine of Istus (Goddess of Fate) to get them to 3rd in a timely fashion. Things will get VERY much slower from 5th onwards, when I will be using a slower version of the downtime option for leveling from the DMG.
6. At what level do you expect to end your campaign - after how many sessions?
It will continue as long as the players want, they like empire building... with suitable gaps for character-led projects and adventures, I have adventures I am planning to run until 16th level (the end of Return to the Tomb of Horrors), after that it will become as a much a strategic geopolitical game as a party adventure one.
I would expect it to last at least 18 months if not 2 years.

| #17LeugrenDec 04, 2014 16:20:25 | We are currently playing through LMoP:
1. 6 players, though typically only 5 make it to any given session. 2. Started at level 1. 3. We play once a month and our session run from 6-8 hours. 4. A few days have passed since the group left Neverwinter. 5. Currently level 3. 6. We always hope to reach level 20, but our modus operandii to date has been to run a campaign until the group reaches the low teens and the game becomes unwieldy for various reasons (eg. combat too slow, some characters are too powerful relative to others, etc.). Perhaps 5E will be different. |

| #21Dave_son_of_DaveDec 05, 2014 5:51:18 | 1. I currently have six players. 2. We started at level 1 3. Generally around three hours, and we try to get together at least once a month. 4. Good question. I think it's been about two months in game time. 5. They just leveled up to 4. 6. If I had to guess, maybe 6. |
| #22JPS42Dec 05, 2014 19:25:58 | 1. 3 players and another member of the party that I control. 2. Level 1. 3. The sessions are relatively short; anywhere between 1 and 2 hours. 4. I'm about to start my fourth session for one of the campaigns (it's every two weeks with some exceptions) and so far it's been around 9 days in-game. 5. They're at level 3 right about now. Hopefully the leveling will get slower in the future. 6. It can run for as long as I want it to, maybe into the very high levels. The story is still in its very early stages. |
