Can you guys help me out? In our next session my party is going to be roaming free about Sharn. I'm looking for various encounters (combat and/or non-combat) to throw at them as they explore and meander about the city. I'm kind of swamped working out other aspects of the story/clues etc... And, I figured I would come to those who know Eberron and Sharn best, as well as being some of the most creative people. The forums.

You don't have to stat out combat encounters, but if you wanted to my party is level 8.

Thanks in advance, and I'll be checking this all day today, as we play tonight 1/26/2009!

A night at the Morgrave University’s Dezina Museum:
- The new statue exhibit turns out to be Gargoyles,
- A group of burglars (members of the Daask) accidentally open a Mummy coffin.

Its raining Men:

-While the PC are walking across some skybridges intersection humanoid bodies crush down on the pavement (or across the bridge railing) all around them. apparently a Portal Drake is lose in the upper city and its using its portal burst powers to teleport people into mid-air).

Gang wars! In a dark alley it's the Boromars vs. Daask and your group just happens to be in the middle. Everyone assumes that they're working for the other side. Will you pick a side? Attack both? Try to escape the conflict?
It can also work if your store/inn of choice has a working relationship with one of Sharn's criminal organizations, making it a viable target for another.

In the Bazzar, they party gets accosted by a mangy goblin trying to sell them a dirty metal box. He claims it's a magical icebox. He insists on selling it to them so much, that if they outright refuse, the goblin just chucks it at them and escapes into the crowd.

Whether the PCs bought the gobin's box or had it thrust upon them, they find out that the goblin was telling the truth, it's a metal box version of a Bag of Holding, except the interior temperature is near freezing. Perfect for preserving the doppleganger head the PCs will find inside it.

(The goblin is a low-level runner for Daask, and the doppleganger head belongs to a recently deceased Tyrant crime lord.)

-A thief tries to pickpocket one of the PC's small magical items (a ring or wand), the attempt fail but the item rolls down a sewer hatch.

An elevator malfunctions:

- The PCs are stuck in a malfunctioning elevator with a group of Warfoged metal workers (from the Cogs) and a group of humans anti-Warforged/War/Warforged rights demonstrators. as time pass the two groups resort into violence.

- The elevator stops at an abandoned tower level - floor 77 and a half. the floor is currently used as a Dreamlily drug laboratory (drinking the vials in this lab allows one to see through the eyes of one of the city's most famous actors - John d'Marcavitch :D ). the laboratory is run by a group of Quori possessed halflings (Medium and larger sized creatures will have a hard time maneuvering in this half-floor).

Quori possessed halflings... although that's technically possible, I don't feel it's likely to happen in the *real* world.

*walks in carrying a soap box under his arm. Sets it down. Takes out a pair of spectacles from an inside jacket pocket. Stands on the soap box and puts on the spectacles, pushing them up the bridge of his nose in an extremely nerdy manner.*

Ahem... Actually I'm pretty sure that's not possible. Quori are only supposed to be able to possess Inspired and willing Humans with a sufficient Charisma score.

*puts spectacles back in pocket, steps off soapbox, retrieves soapbox, and exits stage left.*

Those halflings moved to Sharn after the war. The change from the open plains to a dense urban metropolis was a source of severe emotional and psychological discomfort for them, which drove them to heavy substance abuse - that made them uniquely susceptible to Quori possession (also consider that they have been sharing the life and dreams of the human actor John d'Marcavitch for so long that from Dal Quor native point of view - they can be mistaken for humans).

They are currently being used to further the spread of drugs in the city.

- A wealthy noble drifts to earth under the influence of a Featherfall Token (a not too unusual sight). However, this particular noble looks set to land straight in a midden heap and all their cries of protest serve to do is draw an increasingly large crowd eagerly awaiting the impact...
