| #1LeviMilesAug 26, 2008 9:30:11 | Hey, everyone! I REALLY need your help! Tonight is my last summer DnD session, and I wanted to make it special for my one player that is leaving for college on Thursday. Everything is perfect, we have cake, icecream, balloons... except for one thing -- my copy of Whispers of the Vampire's Blade that I bought over night shipping on didn't come! So, I need a short, fun, and squirmish based adventure (3.5) for tonight. I would write one myself, but I'm still learning about everything and this will only be my second "chapter" of DMing (I've DM'd both 3.5 box sets and Shadows of the Last War). It would be great if it took place in Sharn. Hopefully, someone can help me! Thank you so much for your time and consideration! ![]() Here's my group (incase you need to know): -4th Level Valenar Elf Ranger -4th Level Warforged Fighter -4th Level Cleric of the Silver Flame -4th Level Elf Rogue -4th Level Shifter Barbarian -4th Level Aerenal Half-elf Soceror Thanks again! ![]() -Levis |

Although, this time their hostess is no where to be seen. Once the PCs sit down, allow spot checks to notice an Elemental Gem under their table. Whether seeing it and getting away, or no, the Large Elemental attacks and gets a surprise round if they didn't see/prepare for it. A nice knowledge check after the fight ends and the owner kicks them out realizes that House Cannith has the resources to make such a magic item, or if you're PCs start to worry about what happened to Lady Elaydren, they probably head to House Cannith. Once there, they're informed or reminded that she is part of Aundair's house, and if doesn't/hasn't been in Sharn. Although soon after their little visit, they're visited by the Lady herself. She leads them away, telling them they aren't safe in their usual meeting spot, as that gem should have proved. She continues to wind their path through alleys until the PCs are sufficiently lost, with several homeless now the only people in this alley. Finally, Lady Elaydren tells the PC that their "contract" has been terminated, and so must they. The homeless remove their rags revealing several Warforged ready to strike. Once they've beaten her, and assuming they want answers and not just her dead, she tells them that they're all going to die. She attacked in an attempt to save her own life for not completing her mission of getting the Schema. She won't say who's threatening her life for it though. Although she does add that even if it wasn't one faction, for all they know, the Schema was made to produce a weapon that could kill them all. She doesn't know the true origin of the objects, but assuming the PCs could get the schema back, maybe they won't need to find out in a way that could cause 100 more Mournlands. She says that she'll trade them killing her for gold, if the PCs can get the schema's back. She doesn't know who stole them, but given their origin, she suggests the PCs head for Stormreach (I can't think of anyway to keep this in Sharn). Even in they don't accept the offer, she teleports away using a magic item (Coward's Pearl she had in SotLW), leaving the PCs a small ring to communicate with her through. After travel (perhaps another bumpy encounter with either an elemental or two changeling assasins on their boat, either way, asking Elaydren about it lets her confirm to the PCs that someone other than her wants them dead like a certain other higher up in House Cannith who doesn't want them messing in his affairs with the Schemas anymore), it doesn't take long for questions about the Emerald Claw to draw some attention in the small city. While it might very well tell them where they have to go, it's not before the PCs run into a vampire spawn and a few of his zombies. And while they find the way to the ruin their looking for, the dangers of Xen'drik does not make it easy getting there. And if you don't mind stealing a chunk of a novel, perhaps (SPOILER FOR DREAMING DARK 2) Show Show A drow offers to be their guide, and brings them to a map hundreds of feet across. Touching a marked destination brings you to a similar map in that area touched. And he eventually brings them to a broken one, even farther than the one that they were on before, and despite saying it was accidental, he's kidnapping them, for a ritual of his tribe. |

If you really need help i wil try. Have the parties day start normally. Around noon have something wierd happen like giant frogs raining from the sky. Then after that mess has been cleaned up have some terrorist organization announce that they are going to drop skyway into the city.(it may be over used but its fun) Instead of you standard issue bad guys use angry wind elementals for violating there sky or Eberron hippies saying somthing like "cities shold be built on the groubnd humans werent meant to fly". They could also be tring to stop all the airships in Sharn as well. Anything can happen with this idea im sure you want friend to win this so, dont let them try right from the start to make them fail. The best game advice i can give is always try to make the party lose or try to kill them it will make them think harder and the game more interesting .So try it or not but just remember always have fu thats what this game was made for. |
