4e Dragonborn in Eberron

Nov 24, 2008 22:08:14 Hey guys. I've been considering having a "world" change in my current D&D campaign (4e). I love the world of Eberron, so I was considering shifing to that world. However, a prominent member of the party is a dragonborn. This is not really a problem for me, except that I have no idea about the history and perceptions of Dragonborn in Korvaire.

Can anybody help me out?

Nov 25, 2008 8:02:39 The party is a human (barbarian), an orc (two-weapon ranger), a dragonborn (warlord), and one other (tiefling cleric) (sometimes me and the dragonborn swich DMing, but I doubt this will happen any more.) I forsee no trouble with the human getting along with the denesens of that continent, but I can just see people saying "You're aweful agressive, even for a half-orc" to the ranger, and people accusing the argumentative warlord of being a Dragonspawn from some continent he has never heard of!

Besides having an interesting twist for the funnier, I think that having a setting that is film noir-esque, classic American-esque (as opposed to medieval European-esque), and just plain full of adventure (and actual RP opportunities) will be really good for my players.

Nov 28, 2008 22:41:46 KB has mentioned that Dragonborn are not from Argonesson according to the Official 4th Edition adaption. They are as common everywhere like tieflings and changelings. They've always been there, just aren't that common.

Dec 08, 2008 15:58:29 I've taken on the mindset that a Dragonborn is whatever the player wants in their relationship towards dragons? Wanna play a Half-Dragon? Dragonborn. Wanna play a Draconic descended lizardfolk? Dragonborn. Etc.

I do like the idea of this running joke of Dragonborn being compared to Lizardfolk. I so can't wait for one of my PC's to roll one up.
