Hello all,

I've seen stuff about using Sharminds as Psiforged, but I was uneasy about making them an entirely seperate race from normal `forged. For my campaigns, I'd rather keep them the same as 3.5, a racial feat for the standard warforged race. Plus, 4e already has a mechanic for slightly abnormal members of a parent race: Bloodline feats.

Psiforged [Warforged Bloodline]

Heroic Tier
Prerequisites: warforged, Warforged Resolve racial power, Psionic Augmentation class feature
Benefit: Your body incorporates psycho-active crystals in its construction. When you use your Warforged Resolve racial power, you also regain 1 power point in addition to the power's normal benefits. At 21st level you instead regain 2 power points.

I think this mirrors the 3.5 psiforged pretty well, since the feat let you function like a cognizance crystal (a power point battery).

This would in effect give a Psiforged one extra "light" augmentation per combat. Since it's not enough for its full augmentation for powers of the appropriate tier, it's not quite an extra Encounter power. I thought that was fair for a Bloodline feat, which usually grant you an extra power.

I don't think keeping lower level at-wills to keep your augmentation costs low factors into the balance, since Augmentable at-will attacks do not increase in power automatically at level 21. If you want to keep weaker powers to spread your augmentations out, that's fair.

Thoughts?

As for other feats in the bloodline tree, I can see stuff like this:

Energy Conservation [Warforged Bloodline]

Heroic Tier
Prerequisites: Psiforged
Benefit: Whenever you spend power points to augment an augmentable at-will psionic attack power, you gain temporary hit points equal to the power points you spend plus your Constitution modifier.

Welp, they went ahead and made an official Psiforged feat for 4e now. Pretty similar to mine, except it doesn't scale, and it replaces the normal benefits (which I'm not sure I agree with since it costs a feat).
