I never got to try out the Scorpion Wraith PrC in 3.5, but I liked its mechanics and flavor. I've done the best I could to stay true to those notions, with a few liberties here and there. Altogether this class is best for strikers ( mostly Rogues, TWF/Beast Rangers, Monks, and perhaps others like Avengers or Melee-Locks :P), although other classes could advance into the racial PP as well if they fill its prerequisites. Hopefully any Qaltiar drow enthusiasts may get some use out of the PP I've presented here, though of course I'd welcome helpful commentary from any readers at all

Scorpion Wraith
“No prey can escape me, for I stride this world and the next. No enemy can face me, for I am always the shadow behind it. No foe can stand before me and triumph, for I am the scorpion's child.” --Litany of Xil'kan, Scorpion Wraith

Prerequisite: Drow or Scorrow (with Vulkoor’s Touch), trained in Stealth

The White Scorpion, one of Vulkoor's avatars, is said to be the guide of devoted warriors and hunters in the spirit realm, capable of defeating any enemy, living or otherwise. Through training and discipline, you become able to emulate its ways, slipping in and out of shadows, striking your enemies at will with its poison and its claws, made manifest in your own weapons.

Scorpion Wraith Path Features
Shadow Scorpion's Action (11th Level): When you spend an action point to take an extra action, you gain the use of your 'Cloud of Darkness' power one additional time in this encounter.
Wraith's Swiftness (11th Level): You gain a +2 bonus to Initiative, Perception, and Stealth checks.
Veiled in Darkness (16th Level): Whenever you use the 'Cloud of Darkness' power, you can choose to change its area of effect from Burst 1 to Wall 6 (or from Burst 2 to Wall 12 if you have the Clutch of Darkness feat). The first square must be adjacent to you when the wall is created.

i'd make the Cloud of Darkness action point thingy an extra use of CoD usable on that turn only.

the 11th and 20th level powers seem kind of weak and the 12th level power seems way overpowered.

i'm making a vulkoor drow for my next campaign and i'm doing an avenger/zealous assassin. the powers seem to match the scorpion wraith perfectly...

I'd considered the alternative AP ability to be an immediate free use of CoD, but wasn't sure. This version is based on another Paragon's action point which does virtually the same thing but with another power (Dragon Breath, I think?)

As for the 11th and 20th-level powers, They're comparable to other striker-type abilities at the same levels; the 11th-level targets Reflex instead of AC, and the 20th level power subtracts 1 die of Weapon damage for the ongoing damage instead.

The 12-level ability is of course reworkable to within more balanced constraints; originally I'd considered making it just a daily and not a stance, and so had to be sustained with a minor action every round for the rest of the encounter. Alternatively, making it a single-round Insubstantial power (plus some other benefit?) might work.

I'd welcome your suggestions beyond just commenting that they're over-/under-powered, of course...

Perhaps turn the 11th-level attack from Slowing to Immobilizing? Add something else?
What about the 20th-level? Increase the ongoing damage to 10? Upgrade the weapon dice or bonus damage?
