| #1grifoApr 14, 2009 6:39:59 | I got this idea while reading "The Path of Light" section in FoE (the Kalashtar religion). I'm not sure its practical as an adventure, but it sounded too good not to share. Basically the section mentions that priests of the Path are called lightbringers, and that they are officiated in a very long process which requires an interview and a psychic examination. SIt also mentions that on khorvaire, Most, if not all, of the lightbringers are Kalashtar, and that other races are very rare. This got me thinking- what if a candidate was disqualified because he doesn't fit a lightbringers' profile, even though he's a firm believer and fits the job perfectly. And if that could happen, wouldn't it be interesting if a Dreaming Dark agent managed to somehow infiltrate the Path's inner circle? And what if the lightbringers sent their own man into the Dreaming Dark? In case you haven't seen the movie, this is basically The Departed's background- the mobs send an agent into the police, while the police use a guy who doesn't fit a policeman's profile as an agent inside the mobster's group. except here we have the Path's inner circle instead of the cops, and the Dreaming Dark instead of the mob. I have no idea how to fit this into a game, but I just had to get it out of my head... |
