I'm a first time DM so i'm still kinda new to the Ebberon world and was wondering if anyone had some hooks or group of ebberon to use to replace the enemys in the default adventure. Thank you in Advance. |

In regards to adapting the adventure, you have two choices: Keep things simple The bandits are independend (or at least appear to be so for the moment). In this case it is best to find a relatively independend region far from the authorities that would intervene. The Eldeen Reaches and Qbara would be good options. Instead of elves I would use shifters in the Eldeen Reaches, and lizardfolk in Qbara (the latest two DDI articles on Qbara would also be a great boon). If you feel like a more long term approach, you could also use New Cyre in Breland, with for the moment common bandits. The authorities of Breland leave the region alone out of respect for New Cyre's autonomy, either that, or the locals simply do not want to call in the help since that would only put them more into dept with the authorithies of Breland. In that case though you are begging for a more long term campaign surrounding New Cyre since the PCs are likely to play an important role in the community of New Cyre. More Complicated The bandits are part of the Emerald Claw. The adventure is set in a backwater barony of Karnath. The authorities do not get involved yet because the local warlord is in favor of the Emerald Claw and against Kaius, while the baron is in favor of Kaius. The bandits are not just random infernalists, but idealists of a kind. The elves are not elves, but are actually part of the eladrin spire in the area. The adventure gets the PCs involved in the further reaching political bickering between the Blood of Vol and the auhtorities of Karnath, since the PCs took a stance against the more radical elements of the Blood of Vol. Events turn the PCs into minor warlords of their own after all. In addition, it gives the PCs an opening with the eladrin, a fact that is most certainly going to bring them on the front with that potential conflict. One of the benefits of this approach, is that the adventure in the Monster Vault is a lot easier to adapt to Karnath then the rest of Khorvaire. |

I've decided to set it in and around new Cyre like you suggested and i'm likely going to have the Aurum as the hidden sponsors of the bandits that have overtaken New Cyre. From there i may send them to Wroat or Sharn to petition for Supplies for the town from a noble or one of the DragonMarked Houses and have the Aurum try to stop them there as well. Thanks again. |
