This particular adventurers' agent has a client who's gotten on the wrong side of some people. Actually, the the really wrong side of some really bad people, to the point where they're hunting down and killing his family, friends, associates, and... agent. So he has to run, constantly moving from place to place, thwarting assassins, etc -- in short, he ends up becoming something of an adventurer in his own right. Being an agent for several adventurers, he knows a lot about the "business" of being an adventurer -- he knows where to find good jobs, what common pitfalls get adventurers into trouble most frequently, etc -- but he's slightly subpar in terms of basic adventuring skills. He may know when it is and isn't a good idea to put an arrow through someone's neck, but that doesn't make him a great archer. He's not bad at it -- just maybe not quite up to the usual PC standard. He's getting the hang of it, but has spent most of his time behind a desk, doing things like finding ghostwriters for his adventurer-clients' memoirs. Thoughts? I'm thinking gnome for race. For class... hmm... warlord in 4e, bard in 3.5e? Maybe rogue? I'll probably never play this character, but I'm just bandying the idea about. |

I dont see how Warlord would really fit - then again ive not looked at 4e. If your keeping him as an NPC then Expert would probably be better and having him be and expert on the Underworld/Adventurer side of the community. |
