| #1PhobosApr 03, 2010 22:21:51 | Any recommended adventures to follow SotAC? Thanks in advance... I do have DDI, but I don't recall WotC has released anything. |
| #2PhobosApr 03, 2010 22:33:55 | I found this after digging: Heart of the Forbidden Forge Was there not also, and maybe its part of one of these I have not fully read, but an adventure that allows the PCs to get a dragonmark, even if they are not of proper race? |

There was in 3.5e. Now all a PC has to do is take the feat. (and also get permission from their DM of course ;)) |

| #5Magicstar1Apr 05, 2010 15:48:50 | Eyes of the Lich Queen. I ran it for my PCs and it has some awesome scenes. And can be adapted quite well to 4th edition I think. Slotting it in at high heroic/low paragon would fit the original module I think. *SPOILER* In 3.5 still I had an Archivist and an Artificer in my party of rather optimized PCs. One of the encounters features a huge undead squid hanging from the ceiling being controlled by a (sub)villain. My PCs immediately whipped out a scroll of command undead taking it over, which I return also did. Laughing ensued until the Artificers turn comes up and he with a large grin announces to cast, you guessed it already command undead from scroll. I laugh and notice the Villain also has the spell on her list so I smile wickedly and start casting, both the archivist and the artificer spellcraft it and nearly slide under the table laughing when the fighter interrupts with a readied no you don't and I off course failed my concentration roll. Much laughing ensued over that encounter. *Spoiler* |

The adventure is definitely a good choice, but converting 3E adventures is not particularly easy. Right now I am converting Greyhawk Castle, and I am running in pacing issues. 3E it is easy to have 1 single encounter a day and keep it challenging, and you would have at most 4. In 4E it fluctuates between 3 and 6. |
| #7Magicstar1Apr 06, 2010 7:13:45 | Taking that into account I think Eyes of the Lich Queen does right to that. At least part 1 and 2 seem to be easy to convert, part 3 a bit more difficult and part 4 seems good as well. There are some great opportunities for skill challenges and it has a good mix between exploring and social challenge. I do remember my players felt rail roaded here and there (I ran the adventure as part of the Mark of Heroes, 3.5 Ebberon, campaign). If you need some ideas feel free to drop a line or post here I'm sure there are people more than willing to offer advice. |
