| #2AegeriJul 16, 2009 23:49:49 | Well that review certainly sold me on it (even though I already was). Cannot wait for this book. Why again don't they release it at the same time as the EPG. I have lots of people keen to play but I don't have this essential book to run the game! Thankfully I have enough 3rd edition material that I can cover without it... |
| #3JohnLynchJul 17, 2009 0:39:34 | Nuts. I was hoping it would say whether or not there were dinosaur mounts in the book (e.g. fastieh, carvers, clawfoots, etc). |
| #4sephiwindJul 17, 2009 1:29:36 | Was I the only one that looked at the intro paragraph ans said to my self, "The writer probably never played Eberron in 3.5. I mean house Tarkanan isn't actualy a dragon marked house, it's basicly a mafia. They only call them selves a house to make fun of the other houses. I think it might have been started by a group of aberants but basicly its a crime syndicate and was allready in 3.5 At least I'm assuming that Tarkanan still isn't a legitamate house or else that would cause alot of wierdness. |
| #5TyranthraxusJul 17, 2009 2:48:55 | THis is really weird. A while back my eberron game DM (Nice guy and most likely my better at Eberron know how) mentioned that in the local Sharn papers that House Tarkanan was celebrating becoming the latest Dragonmarked House ( or something to that effect). My character who boasts an Aberrant Mark was immediatly disbelieving the news story (as well all know how Aberrant Marked people are normally treated). Now if this has changed, its certainly going to have been foreshadowed in this Eberron game. Im not sure how I feel about the Aberrants who are likely going to have the strange concept of being forced to join a Dragonmarked house or risk being 'alone'. Is this something the main houses have forced on the Aberrants. If you give a monster a name, does it make them less scary and more controllable?. Now if this Aberrant House thing is correct, likely its going to take into members of the 3 'types' of marks expressed in feats so far... although Im guessing it will take in everyone with an Aberrant feat. Im visuallisngly Aberrant Marked hunters, hunting down people with Aberrant marks and giving them the choice 'Join or Die'. There is always something cool to me about internal wars than the big showy ones. Better yet, Im doubting the new House will be recognised everywhere. This is of course assuming that the reviewer is correct, although Im assuming he HAS read the book and knows what he is talking about (Reviewers generally do) |
| #6HellcowJul 17, 2009 6:46:52 | It's given a full write-up in the Dragonmarked section, but the quote is "A criminal guild specializing in assassination and theft, House Tarkanan is set up as a mockery of a dragonmarked house." So nothing has changed - we're just highlighting its existence. |
| #7sephiwindJul 17, 2009 9:12:00 | Thx for the slight clarification HC, I was worried their for a minute. |
| #8seTinyJul 17, 2009 12:11:51 | Nuts. I was hoping it would say whether or not there were dinosaur mounts in the book (e.g. fastieh, carvers, clawfoots, etc). Yes there are.... Clawfoot and Glidewings I remember seeing this morning before I came to work. But there are a few of them, and a Valenar Horse. |
| #42AvonRekaesJul 20, 2009 12:59:34 | This is particularly inspiring, what is it of? My guess is that it's an Aerenal estate. |
| #43zombiegleemaxJul 20, 2009 14:57:13 | My guess is that it's an Aerenal estate. Or maybe a Feyspire? |
| #44seTinyJul 20, 2009 15:16:19 | That is a feyspire. Either from the page that talks about Feyspires history and current existence or one of the named ones. Without my book I'm only guessing but I think it is the former. |
