| #1lyranJul 30, 2009 15:24:15 | I have encounterd a problem with a NPC. He's a kobold tinker and I'd like him to be an artificer. So I try to find the artificer NPC template. And I can't find it anywhere. So where is it going to be? The DMG2? Otherwise I'm just going to homebrew it. What role would it be? What class features would apply? That kind of stuff. So, any suggestions? |

At any rate I have made a custom artificer NPC up in the ddi monster builder for my game at the moment by taking a controller set of base stats then adding in curative admixture and a few other quasi-artificer-ish powers... So yeah houserule. :D |

They're all formulaic. This is the general set up I use. Class • Elite (Monster Combat Role) Power Source (As Class) Defenses (As Class) Saving Throws +2 Action Point +1 Hit Points; if base 10 (such as wizard or invoker) - 6+Con score if base 12, 14, or 15 (almost every class) - 8+Con score if base 17 (such as warden) - 10+Con score Weapon Proficiency (As Class) Armor Proficiency (As Class) Implements (As Class; leave out if none) Trained Skills: Usually "Two skills from the (class) skill list". If the class has an automatic skill (such as religion for Cleric), then "(Auto skill), plus one other from the (class) skill list". If the class has two auto skills, or a choic of auto skills, then "(Auto skill 1) or (Auto skill 2), plus one other from the (class) skill list". Class Features (As Class) For your benefit, here's my mock-up of the Artificer template. Artificer • Elite Controller (Leader) Power Source Arcane Defenses +1 Fortitude, +1 Will Saving Throws +2 Action Point 1 Hit Points 8 + Constitution Score Weapon Proficiency Simple melee, simple ranged Armor Proficiency Cloth, leather Implements Rods, staves, wands Trained Skills Arcana, plus one other from the artificer class list Class Features Arcane Empowerment, Arcane Rejuvenation, Healing Infusion, Ritual Casting |

| #6SiberysAug 09, 2009 12:18:16 | In the FRPG, it's on the same page as the "Threats" chapter opener picture. There doesn't seem to be a dedicated "monsters" sectionin the ECG, so check each of pages 6, 50, 64, 108, 172, 206, 238, 264, and 287. My bet (not having access to the book) would be 64, 108, or 172. If it's not there, then expect it in the DMG2. |
