Ashurta's Figurine

In our campaign we just finished the seekers of the Ashen crown, and are beginning a new quest.  We have alot of treasures since its completion, but I thought of something further to add that could aid the next quest.  Our group is powerful, and I feel our DM is going to throw much more difficult encounters at us.

One of the artifacts found in Ashurta's tomb is a small figurine of Ashurta.  It has the following inscription on it.

Those of warriors might,Whose bravery lights the night. When the hour of death nears, And even courage sheds tears. I shall aid those with my sword, For your honor I reward.
Basically the statue contains a part of Ashurta's soul.  Whenever the PCs are in trouble, they can activate it with a standard action and have a spectral Ashurta fight for them for the rest of the encounter (Ashurta only appears max once per day.)

However the statue only glows (to be activated) when the PCs are in an honorable fight, and when Ashurta deems it is needed.  The DM is the one who will dictate when Ashurta believes his presense is necessary.

This might sound a bit powerful, but it has a few purposes.

1) It allows the PCs to further have a connection to their journey to find the Ashen Crown.
2) When you need a good roleplaying excuse to have an NPC appear to help the adventures when not everybody can attend the session (that way the PCs can feel more comfortable continuing if they are short 1-2 players.)
3) If the DM realizes he made an encounter overly difficult, and the PCs dont have an escape route.  A fresh Ashurta appearing might make the encounter survivable without the DM purposefully having to roll badly.
4) This could also influence a paragon tier adventure (assisting in resurrecting Ashurta to lead his people back to honor and glory.)  The figurine and the Ashen crown are part of the process needed in order to ressurrect Ashurta (make his rediscovery create a messiah like worship in the goblins of Khorvaire.)

*Note, you should keep Ashurta at least 1 level lower than the average level of the party, but level him up with the PCs if you want him to have a continued presense for the heroic-paragon tiers.
