He had one eye which was closed all the time, and it took four men with a special handle to lift open his eyelid. When his eye was open what ever he gazed upon would be incinerated. Some versions of the move said that during the final battle, Lugh one of the Tuatha de Danann, used a sling shot stone, which ripped Balor's eye out of the socket. Even after his defeat, the eye continued to burn away at the surroundings. Considering the involvement the Fomorian have in fourth edition, and Thelanis being a realm of the fair folk in Eberron, it gave me an idea of having a connection between the demons called Balors and the Fomorian leader named Balor. Perhaps after the war Balors eye was removed from Thelanis, and sent to another world, which would one day become Fernia do to the eye and it's destructive fiery gaze. Just an idea I had, and wanted to know what your views are on it. Sorry if I came of as rambling. |
