They try to kill anything that want to leave the wastes and they live in the labyrinth right after the mountains... but what else is there to? them? I have a few thoughts myself, but I'm on my way out the door so itl have to wait. But in the meantime, what does everyone else think? |

The Ghaash'kala orcs try to kill anything that tries to leave the Wastes. The Carrion Tribes are largely dedicated to the worship of rajahs or hags, and are the primary force the Ghaash'kala seek to keep IN the Wastes. The Carrion Tribes aren't unified in any way (and fight each other on a regular basis), and different tribes will have very different flavor; a tribe inspired by the Rage of War and guided by the Mordakhesh the Shadowsword will be brutal and warlike, whereas one touched by the Truth in the Darkness will be eerie and given more to warlocks than barbarians. So it's a good subject for a thread, but bear in mind that you're dealing with an extremely diverse range of people, not a single monolithic culture. |

If you want to see them placed within the historical continuity of Eberron, please download the latest version of the Grand History. http://www.scribd.com/doc/7469132/Th...ory-of-Eberron |

| #5NivedNov 02, 2008 12:34:04 | James Wyatt's latest novel had an excellent scene with the barbarians of the Demon Wastes... I don't have the novel with me (loaned it out) so I'm going from memory here. A exiled resident of the wastes was describing to his companions the various good aligned 'keep the evil contained' groups in the wastes. "If its (group A) you'd never hear them coming they'd just kill you, if it was (group b) they would stop and tell you why they are going to kill you before they kill you, if its (group c) they will stop tell you why they are going to kill you, offer you a chance to renounce your evil life and join them in their holy cause, then kill you if you don't." Or something along those lines. I wish I could quote it directly such a good scene. |
