I'm looking for a good read.
1) Night of the Long Shadows
I got it out from a library when I was just getting interested in Eberron, and it didn't make too much sense to me then. It was okay; not great, not bad.
2) City of Towers (#1 in Dreaming Dark by our esteemed Hellcow)
It was nice; of course, it would've been better if I'd been able to CONTINUE the trilogy; got it at a second-hand bookstore, along with the only other Eberron book there, which was...
3) Queen of Death (#3 in Lost Mark)
As I only got the last book in the trilogy, I'm not sure what the series is like. I've heard negative things about it, but my opinion on the book is same as 1): not great, not bad.
4) Legacy of Wolves
Bought the book (firsthand!) after repeated recommendations from peeps on this board, along with having talked to the author on here. It was pretty nice, talking about a side of things I hadn't really thought of; with all the emphasis on Sharn, you kind of forget there's other places. The only problem I had with it (which isn't really a problem) is that I could figure out who the BBEG was within literally a paragraph of him/her being introduced.
Keith Baker's Dreaming Dark series is also very good. It starts off in Sharn, a noir-esque exploration of the city, and moves onto an epic journey through Xen'drik and beyond. Maybe not quite as good if cliffhangers make you pull your hair out.
Don Bassingthwaite's Dragon Below series is my favourite of the three. A grand struggle between cultists of the Dragon Below, the Gatekeeper druids and (of course) a number of outsider heros.

Holy crap I completely forgot my favorite trilogy out of all the eberron books. The Dragon Below is absolutely awesome.

The Lost Mark books are O.K. but at points just does not think over and over againe.

The cover gives it away, so you don't even have to get that far. ;)
The part with the ring was added in at the last minute, so there wasn't as much time to layer in the subtlety as there was with other plot points. Something I will definitely try to avoid with the next book!

There is also a thread there where you can indicate which Eberron books you'd like to discuss in future book clubs. Usually the authors are on hand to answer questions and give insight. It's alot of fun.

Ultra-meh.
It seemed like it could have been good, but I found the characters somewhat flat. And the little setting details he got wrong really bugged me.
(That and everyone in the cast seems to have a copy of the Campaign Setting sitting on their night stand, given the secrets they are aware of.)
Also, what characters haven't you seen in the Eberron novels that you would like to see?
but i would like to see elves form Valenar or Aerenal and some with the Twelve or some book place in Sarlonar.

A surprisingly hard question...Well, Dalan d'Cannith froHeirs of Ashwas a pleasure. The brillian non-cackling schemer who battles with plots instead of weapons keeping everyone on their toes, including the reader. Abraxis Wren from Night of the Long Shadows was pure fun,And, of course, I should mention Irullan-a great insight to the shifter race. The prize of the most interesting villain was to Marth the changeling(probably the most depthful Eberron villain so far). Favourite place( I know, alittle off-topic, but anyway)? A tie between Thelanis from the Gates of Night(enchanting, dangerous, highly unpredictable) and gloomy, militant Korth from the Darkwood Mask.
Also, what characters haven't you seen in the Eberron novels that you would like to see?
So far, the only face of the Blood of Vol cult we have seen is the inner one;hateful undead, evil clerics all knowing of and faithful to the Queen of Death, Emerald Claw maniacs etc. I would consider profoundly interesting a character that actually believes in the public version of the faith and tries to promote it. The mummy or vampire that actually believes in championing the common church follower beside the inner circle doctrine, the Vol paladin, you name it.
A monstrous or goblinoid as one of the main characters wouldn be very welcome too( Ekhaas from the Dragon Below was a good, solid character, but still a supporting one).

I know a lot of us authors would like to get the chance to write a character like that, too! Especially since many of the monstrous races in Eberron are so different from their depictions in other settings; they beg for more in-depth examination.
