I believe your talking about Elemental Grafts. As to the rules, I can't share that because its against policy to do so I believe.

Also, on a different topic, I noticed you have a really long signature. You might want to pop some of that in side an sblock so people can choose to look at it.

Elemental grafts are pretty cool.

Basically an elemental is bound into part of your body using the binding techniques of the gnomes of Zilargo.

I don't have the book in front of me, but I was looking at it a little while ago and there are a few that do different things.

I think there are a pair of "legs made of air" and once a day you can turn them into a whirlwind (so you look a bit like a djinn).
Or having fire bound into your hands so they look like there is fire under your skin (and when you want to you can heat them up and burn things just by touching them).

I've never seen anyone using them in a game, but it's an interesting idea.

There are many things you can work on with grafts. From skin to eyes and the likes. There are different grafts also, such as plant grafts, undead, grafts, and even construct grafts (this was introduced in faith's of eberron). These are besides the elemental graft and is not the complete list of grafts.

The hints that "elemental" will be a future power source bode well for Zilargo-style elemental binding, I think. Until then, a 4th edition DM can probably simulate elemental grafting with a few descriptor-substitution feats, and possibly a paragon path. I'd love to draft one... as soon as I get my books.

Sorry, if this is too off-topic, but how many kinds of grafts are there? I know of illithid, beholder, plant, undead, construct, draconic, and elemental. I'd love to make an NPC with a hodge-podge of grafts....

Magic of Eberron also had deathless grafts. Deathless being a postive energy version of undead introduced for Eberron's Undying Court, they are mostly for elves.

Trouble with your idea... I think you're limited to having one type of graft on you at a time. I'm not sure though since my copy of Magic of Eberron is at my brother's apartment. That aside, you can only have so many grafts on you, since they each take up certain space on your body.
