| #1missekatMay 25, 2008 4:51:42 | This is a retake on the "Calendar for easy reference"-thread. To tell it short:I'm trying to make an Eberron Calendar that will give easy overview of all the momorial days and holy days of Eberron. MAN the threads get purged fast now! I'm away from the boards for 2 days and it's gone!!! Anyway, I charmed my bf into letting me borrow his computer for this project, and tuesday is the day the spreadsheet will be uploaded. I'll probably put it in my groups homepage and put a link in this thread, (if I can keep it alive ;) ), for you guys. The spreadsheet will allow you to make any changes you would want for your own campaign. Objective 2 of this project was to make a nice looking .pdf file for printing and hanging on your wall, or keeping on your desktop.. And I will need pictures for this. Now: Even as a girl I can totally understand the male urge to look at a bit of T&A once in awhile, and I promise that if you guys want it, I'll make a Eberronian Calendar girl Calendar for you, but first priority is to find some season relevant, (or just relevant!), pictures is a good enough resolution for the calendar. Will you help me? |
| #2missekatMay 25, 2008 4:58:32 | Yep, it's official.. all that reading dark forbidden gaming books will make you go blind. I'm living proof. The thread I thought was purged is here. But I'll just keep the discussion here. It has shifted from: "Does this thing already exist", to "Any pictures you want in it?" |
| #3octaviusiiiMay 26, 2008 18:42:53 | Hmm... perhaps an overall lunar brightness would be useful in the calendar? As for the pictures on the topside of the calendar: troll through the online Eberron gallery, perhaps? If you want pictures though, not just artwork, the Wikimedia gallery is full of such things. |
| #4ornitoMay 26, 2008 18:54:11 | Well I'm really interested in putting together something for the moons and I think it was Missekat in the other thread saying that might be too much for her. I'd be up for putting some stuff together, mine would probably be a bare bones excel of the calendar with just the moons and their phases. The big question I have is whether or not their phases have ever been described in a sourcebook or if the only information is from the online tool. Either if I have to find some information in a sourcebook or play with that tool for a few hours what I'd like to make is an excel spreadsheet where you can set the initial phases and it takes it from there. I'll probably assign some artificial luminosity values based on the dragon shards article but that'd be mostly arbitrary and probably changable for each person. |

| #6missekatMay 27, 2008 2:59:20 | I am pretty sure you will just have to use the online tool. I looked up the moons when gathering info for the calendar, and could not find anything. That is partly why I will not put it in the calendar. I am just that bit too lazy ![]() But if you actually make it, I would very much like a copy. |
| #7PaulonMay 27, 2008 3:43:32 | If you get his permission, a nice bit of art for a calender would be the wallpaper by Trolls in this thread. You may need to set the forum to display older threads to see it. |
| #8missekatMay 28, 2008 1:49:11 | AAAAND the .pdf is finished! Calendar This link takes you directly to it, and my webwise gamers was so nice as to put that specific site all in english. The spreadsheets will be up soon too. |
| #9octaviusiiiMay 28, 2008 2:21:25 | I love it! But I thought all the months were 4 weeks (28 days) long... I hope I'm wrong! |
| #10missekatMay 28, 2008 10:20:23 | Hmm.. i'd better recheck that. I'm sure I read somewhere that they were 30 days long, but I could be mistaken. If I am, I'll just have to redo the thing. The spreadsheet goes up on the site sometime this afternoon, and for those who can't read dansih and navigate the site, I'll post another link for that. |
| #11PaulonMay 28, 2008 14:29:38 | According to the online calender tool, the months are 28 days. The calender itself looks great. |
| #12BlackDragon71425May 28, 2008 15:33:33 | This will be extremely usful for me. I'm always trying to keep track of the days/months in my game, so far using only a day planner, and its tough, this will help a lot. One thing I did notice though, was that you left off Khybersef. 27th of Vult, the darkest night off the year, evil forces stronger and all that good stuff. I dunno if you just forgot or missed it, cuz its right under all the other Silver Flame holidays you put in, but just a heads up in case you want to add that in. Thanks again for the calendar! |
| #13missekatMay 30, 2008 0:53:41 | BlackDragon: If I left it out I will put it in when I fix my "extra 2 day every month" mistake. I know I wrote it in when I made Vult the first time, (Its 27'th Vult, stuck in the middle of the 3 day Long Shadows festival), but I had to remake Vult, so I might have accidently left it out second time around. It'll take me awhile to fix these two mistakes. My bf and I broke up yesterday, and I no longer have access to his pc, (duh), and thereby no access to the officepack I would need to fix it. but as soon as I find someone who will lend me their pc, (with the officepack installed), I'll get right on it. Otherwise, if anyone has these tools, I'll gladly give instructions on how to fix the mistake. It's about an hour of work, if you're fast on the keyboard. All you need is Word, Excell and a txt to .pdf converter, (I can link to a free and very simple software for that use). So.. if anyone is up for helping out, it would be great. Since I kinda don't know when I'll have the chance to do anything about it.Also, about the art in the calendar: As I was surfing through the net i search of pictures, it struck me that the months was tied to moons, tied to dragonmark powers, tied to the Houses. So.. thats why I choose the heraldic crests for each house, displayed on the relevant month. Makes it easier to remember what each month does in the supersticious little minds of the common folks :D |
| #14missekatMay 30, 2008 0:58:29 | Oh, and Ornito: (If you read this ), post a link if you make a moon-calendar. I'd like one :D |
| #15ornitoMay 30, 2008 1:59:40 | Yeah, been a bit under the weather these past few days and kind of picking at the 4e stuff a friend let me take a look at. Hopefully I'll get some time tomorrow, if not tomorrow then this weekend for sure. |
| #16missekatJun 02, 2008 15:40:58 | ![]() Well.. one of my gamers thinks he might have a chance to possibly lend a pc, with the office pack.. maybe.. possibly.. maybe.. Anyway.. here's hoping Ornito has looked at his stuff, and that I can get my calendar fixed ![]() |
| #17missekatMar 14, 2009 12:09:05 | I finally got around to get the calendar done right. And I'll mail it to anyone who wants it. The one linked in my sig is still broken. |
| #18joni-sanMar 15, 2009 17:00:19 | Wouldn't it be easier to put up a link for the fixed version? -Joni |
| #19tallric_kruushMar 15, 2009 20:46:04 | I'm not sure this is the link requested above, but I figured it would be extremely useful all the same. Behold the Eberron World and Planar Calender Utility... http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebwe/20041129a ...I hope it's still useful after the new cosmology is launched in the ECG. |
| #20missekatMar 16, 2009 3:02:30 | Nope.. thats not the link, tallric. Thats for the digital calendar. I made one for printing with all the holidays included. Yeah, it would Joni-San, ut the guy who dows the web-page it's on, is a bit hard to get a hold of. I'm trying, though. |
| #21tallric_kruushMar 16, 2009 15:39:38 | Nope.. thats not the link, tallric. Thats for the digital calendar. I made one for printing with all the holidays included. I see. I guess I misread your request for a link to a "moon calender". I immediately thought of the Lunar/Planar Utility. |
| #22missekatMar 17, 2009 10:04:22 | There.. now the link in my sig direcs you to the updated calendar. Download and enjoy, I hope its usefull. |
| #23skrapsanMar 17, 2009 12:18:49 | Thank you for this wonderful service. |
| #24missekatMar 17, 2009 12:20:29 | You're welcome ![]() I'm just happy that it's useful. I was making it for myself anyway :D |
| #25Omen_of_PeaceMar 17, 2009 15:12:05 | Thanks ! ![]() |
| #26SiberysMar 17, 2009 16:12:56 | You have the Tain Galas on the first day of each month. They are actually on the first Far of each month (S:CoT p31); Also, you list the days as Sulday, Molday, etc., which is an acceptable way of doing it, but near every official book I've seen eschews the "day". Just some things I've noticed. |
| #27missekatMar 18, 2009 0:52:18 | Ah I hadn't noticed that they were on the first Far of each month, bit I'll just correct that. And, yeah, I know it isn't usually used, but how do you want me to place it on far if i don't use the days? ;) I'll put in the normal IRL weekday names too, (counting on Molday to be Monday, and so forth). Hows that? |
| #28skrapsanMar 18, 2009 1:54:45 | do it |
| #29missekatMar 18, 2009 1:57:10 | Calendar corrected, but I dont have book and page reference for Khybersef, (27th of Vult), and it would be sloppy not to iclude it. Can anyone help me find where this holiday is mentioned? |
| #30SiberysMar 18, 2009 11:57:20 | What I meant was that on the calendar you have sulDAY, molDAY, zolDAY, etc. Instead of Sul, Mol, Zol, etc. Just an aesthetic thing, though. Not particularly important. |
| #31missekatMar 18, 2009 11:59:22 | Siberys: aha.. I misunderstood you, then. Yeah, I'm not sure I'll change that, unless people think it's annoying. |
| #32GiloMar 18, 2009 14:26:50 | Calendar corrected, but I dont have book and page reference for Khybersef, (27th of Vult), and it would be sloppy not to iclude it. Can anyone help me find where this holiday is mentioned? Faiths of Eberron p.64 |
| #33missekatMar 18, 2009 14:59:29 | Thanks Gilo, you're a dear ![]() |
| #34moseskDec 21, 2009 11:04:36 | Found the old Eberron calendar that I made. It includes holy days, Sharn events, a guide to the old numbering, days of power, etc. I wasn't sure what file hosting site to use, so let me know if there are any problems. It is in PDF format, but I can provide others. www.filedropper.com/eberroncalendar ----Moses |
