However, there was a campaign on Oblivion that seems worth stealing. While the Mages Guild, Fighter's Guild, Thieves' Guild, and Arena quests are lacklustre and not the best compared to Morrowind, the Knights of the Nine seems to me something worth stealing for Eberron. The basic idea is that an ancient evil has awakened and was attacking the Church. In this case, the Church of the Sovereign Host. An old prophet prophesying Fire and Brimstone (Solon?) appears in the town that was originally attacked and promises Fire and Brimstone can be averted and the enemy defeated if a worthy Knight (3rd Edition -- Paladin, LG Fighter, Noble Warrior, or Kalashtar Soulknife [okay, that's a bit of a stretch]; 4th Edition -- Warlord) can quest for the Holy Panoply of the Sovereign Host. The Knight has to go on a holy pilgrimage across Khorvaire and pray at select shrines dedicated to each of the Gods of the Sovereign Host. Once completed, he recieves a vision, and then goes to some dangerous location to retrieve the ring and the helm of an ancient knight. Then it goes on from there. A holy quest to defeat an ancient evil, the restoration of a holy Knighthood that once existed in old Cyre or Karrnath, and the PC becomes the leader of a group of holy righteous Knights. Does this sound workable for you? Question, any ideas on how this would work in Lore? Could the ancient evil be a Raksasha? A Rukh? Maybe even someone like Ravana from the Ramayana (by Valmiki, of course)? |

You can have the holy knight and his companions be confronted with all corners of Khorvarian society (maybe a theive's guild has moved into the ruin of a shrine to Kol Korran in the Fallen district of Sharn, etc.). Some other options for the evil are: a Daelkyr, a Planar Invasion, an ancient undead king of some sort, or an Aspect of one of the Dark Six (Not actually the god itself, but the concept and faith in the god made manifest, which doesn't prove explicitly that the god exists.). |

Yeah, sure. It's the best mini-campaign from the Computer Game Oblivion that can be stolen, in my estimation. Morrowind has a lot more that can be directly mined on their own. The Great Houses -- Redoran, Hlaalu, and Telvani can all be adapted to a particular Dragonmarked House; the Mage's Guild Quests from Morrowind can be directly adapted to the activities of House Cannith and their investigations in the Mournland (i.e. Cyre); the Imperial Legion to any number of nations; etc.
Look up "Sita Sings the Blues" as an introduction. There is a whole Indian T.V. Show based on the Epic Ramayana, though. There might be a Japanese Anime Adaptation (although the closest is RGVeda). I named Ravana since he is the king of the Rakshasas. Some other options for the evil are: a Daelkyr, a Planar Invasion, an ancient undead king of some sort, or an Aspect of one of the Dark Six (Not actually the god itself, but the concept and faith in the god made manifest, which doesn't prove explicitly that the god exists.). Well the original mini-campaign has the PC fighting King Umaril, which was an ancient undead king.
He'd be a PC. ![]() |
