So, tell me, how are you doing today?” 3 Things about Dau: * She is the bastard daughter of Sadral d’Deneith. * Dau wears Glamourweave clothing a lot. * Dau was raised by the Talshiana family of Kalashtar. Dau was born to Meg in 974, who was impregnated by Sadral d’Deneith during a visit to one of the brothels in Sharn’s Welcome. The result was a bastard child changeling. Still, fearful that it might be a member of House Deneith that the Sharn Enclave couldn’t control; Sadran had the mother hunted to be brought back to the Enclave, or if at all possible, slain. Meg fled to Upper Dura, and for some reason, found herself in Overlook. Five blademarks chased Meg with her precious cargo into Overlook. As she ran from her pursuers, the Blademarks didn’t know that they themselves were being pursued. Five shadow watchers: Kalharath, Lanharath, Malharath, Lanakashtai, and Salatalshiana followed the young women and the babe. Finally, they were confronted, and Meg and the babe who were Dau found themselves behind two Shadowblades (Lanharath and Malharath), a silvertongue (Lanakashtai), and a forcemind (Kalharath). The battle that ensued while Salatalshiana spirited Meg to safety was terrible. Lanharath cut off the sword arms of two Blademarks; Malharath slew one by plunging his mindblade in the Blademark’s chest; and Kalharath disintegrated another one. The fifth one was spared, and taken the shrine of the Path of Light as a “guest.” After all, she was one month pregnant. Dau, as she was named, was reared in the family of Talshiana of Sharn. She was taught the ways of the Adarans and her true heritage was kept from her; except for a ring that Meg procured from her father. Dau grew up as a becomer. She played the game “I’m you!” frequently as a child. Replicating her best friend – Halharath – frequently. As Halharath viewed him as an outsider, Dau felt like an outsider; so the two have become fast friends from an early age. When Halharath felt he needed to leave Sharn to find Soserath, the founder of the Atavist Initiative, Dau naturally followed him. She follows the fledging Shadowblade on his quests. |

| #3Elton74Nov 05, 2008 7:12:54 | Hahahaha! No. She can at your world's fair. Although, I have no idea why a Changeling who was raised by Kalashtar would be working for the House Deneith enclave, which has been compromised by the Dreaming Dark. |

| #5Elton74Nov 05, 2008 11:17:49 | That can work. :D |
| #6Elton74Nov 05, 2008 20:37:33 | These two are linked together. HALHARATH (CR 3) Male Kalashtar Soulknife LG Medium Humanoid Action Points: 6 Init +1; Senses Listen +5, Spot +5 Languages: Common, Quori, Draconic, Riedran AC: 14, touch 11, Flatfooted 12 (+1 Dex, +3 armor) Hp 33 (3 HD+3 Con) Fort +1, Ref +3, Will +3 Speed: 30 ft. (6 sq.) Melee: Mindblade +2 (1d6, crit 19-20/x2, piercing) Base Attack: +2, Grp +4 Special Actions: Mindblade, Align Mindblade, Psionic Weapon, Purifying Strike, Throw Mindblade Combat Gear Abilities: Str 14, Dex 13, Con 13, Int 20, Wis 11, Cha 9 SQ: Kalashtar traits (RoE pg. 55), Aspergers Syndrome (see below), Kalashtar Soulknife Substitution Levels (2) (RoE pg. 125) Feats: Fencing (1st Feat, see below), Psionic Weapon, Open Minded (Asperger’s Syndrome Feat, see below), Weapon Proficiency (Mindblade) Skills: Autohypnosis +5, Concentration +6, Jump +7, Knowledge (Overlook) +8, Knowledge (Martial Arts) +8, Knowledge (Psionics) +9, Listen +5, Spot +5, Swim +3, Tumble +4 Asperger’s Syndrome: (Flaw) Halharath was born with Asperger’s Syndrome, a condition that allows for higher cognitive functions of the brain at the expense of reduced dexterity and Charisma. As a result, this flaw allows an extra feat (in this case, Open Minded) as well as +2 Int. Halharath takes a -2 penalty to Cha and Dex. Fencing: Kalashtar Mindblade Fencing (Modified from fencing in Blood and Fists) Prerequisite: Kalashtar, Weapon Focus (Mindblade). Effect: You are proficient in punching attacks and are considered armed when making such attacks. You provoke no attacks of opportunity for Disarm attempts, and you may feint as a move action. This feat adds Bluff to your list of class skills. Fencing is an external style whose attacks are modified by either Strength or Dexterity (chosen when you first select this feat). Halharath has chosen Strength. Gear: Studded Leather armor, backpack with waterskin, one day’s trail rations, bedroll, sack, and flint and steel. 12 gp. Hook “I feel that I must find Soserath, the founder of the Atavist Initiative.” Three things about Halharath: • Halharath admires Lanharath greatly. • He has Asperger’s Syndrome, a condition not uncommon among House Cannith. • He takes a no nonsense approach to fighting the Dreaming Dark. Halharath is the son of Kalharath, the Forcemind (Kineticist 11). His mother was Dalakashtai, of the Kashtai line. His father is a shadowwatcher, while his mother is an artisan (Exp 3/Artificer 2). He was born in 974, amid the chaos while his father fought against House Deneith for Meg and Dau. The birth was especially painful and difficult, as Dalakashtai was only 21 years old at the time, and birthing her first child. For the first three years, Halharath was raised and suckled by his mother before he was given to Halharath to raise. Halharath felt heartbroken at being separated from his mother, but soon it all was soothing. However, it became apparent that Halharath was a genius. Many thought he could become a shaper or powerful psion. His clumsiness as a child would lead to that fact. However, the seer Salshiana saw the boy’s future as a very powerful young Kalashtar “trusted, and standing on the right hand of the Vampire King of Karrnath.” What did it mean? Did Salshiana get a glimpse of the Dragon Prophecy? And who was this Vampire King? Salshiana also had more to say. But, it became apparent, though, as the boy matured, something was not right with Halharath. He was somewhat distant. While growing up, he had the attention of bullies, who bullied him for his knowledge and intelligence. To defend himself, he trained as a Soulknife under his brother’s tutelage. Lanharath taught Halharath how to effectively defend himself and manifest a mindblade. As he grew, he relied on Dau the changeling for friendship. Halharath felt he was “outside” of Kalashtar society although he did his best to fit in. Dau, another outsider, shared his feelings. Constantly, Dau would change her shape to match his, playing “I’m You!” with him frequently. She played it to successfully trap the Shadowblade leader Xaltecakesh in a bathhouse. She went in as Halharath, and then turned into a beautiful blonde which threw Xaltecakesh into a daze. Halharath was blamed for that one. Halharath threw himself into his studies, feeling the connection to Lanharath was the only thing he could trust. Although, he had to learn fencing styles from Malharath. Malharath, who was Lanharath’s trusted companion on many of Lanharath’s missions, taught Halharath the Arte of Defence. However, his first experience with sex – being an extremely beautiful boy – happened when he meditating under a waterfall. Malharath tried to get the boy to have sex with him in the purity of the waterfall glade. Halharath refused Malharath’s amorous advances, even though feelings were strong – Halharath felt loyalty to his hero and brother, Lanharath. Halharath left Malharath in disgust over the whole situation, the situation didn’t feel right. As beautiful as he was, he was becoming a man by human standards (only 14 years of age in 988 Y.K.). Then, when the Mournland was created in 994, on his birthday; Halharath had an epiphany. He felt he should go seek out Soserath, the founder of the Atavist movement. Or initiative. Finally, in 998 Y.K., he had the resources to do so. He said goodbye to his family in Sharn and gathered the materials to go. Standing by him, through all the turmoil was his friend – Dau. The Changeling vowed that they would adventure together to find Soserath and restore him to the Kalashtar community. However, a month before Malharath was killed by the Quori Dominator Tirashana. The Inspired fled to Sarlona and Lanharath vowed that he would not rest until Tirashana had been captured and her Quori spirit imprisoned. Leaving Halharath “half-trained.” I'll have a third companion for them, soon. |
