Confused on Sarlonan timeline

Dec 17, 2008 10:54:03 So I've been poring over the timeline in the Eberron Campaign Setting book and also over the History section of Secrets of Sarlona, but I'm still very confused as to when the rebel quori came to Eberron, and when the Inspired began their conquest of Sarlona.

Correct me:

-18,000: renegade quori come to Eberron.Quori are not far behind.

100 years of...I don't know...pass. Tension between the Sarlonan kingdoms, I guess.

200 years of conflict ensues between 17,000-15,000. By -15,000, quori now have a handful of possessable hosts. 200 more years of strife ensues. Then the time would be...13,000?

So then why does it mention elsewhere that there have been "twelve centuries of peace" when Sarlona was united under the Riedran banner over 13000 years ago?

Please help me out...majorly confused.

So when does 1 Unity begin too?

You wrote "200 years of conflict ensues between 17,000-15,000." but 200 years of conflict would be "17,000-16,800". "17,000-15,000" would be 2,000 years of conflict.

Methinks you're confused about a zero somewhere.

The quori arrived 1,800 years ago. You're off by 16,200 years. The kalashtar quori arrived 1,800 years ago. Over the course of the next three centuries, the other quori figured out what they had done, and began to lay the foundation of the Sundering, which was a long and very subtle process... sowing dreams of discord and aspirations of power among fertile minds.

The Sundering began 1,500 years ago. After 200 years of conflict, the first Inspired appear. They unite forces and spend a century establishing the Unity. And things proceed from there.

Over the course of the next three centuries, the other quori figured out what they had done, and began to lay the foundation of the Sundering, which was a long and very subtle process... sowing dreams of discord and aspirations of power among fertile minds.

The Sundering began 1,500 years ago. After 200 years of conflict, the first Inspired appear. They unite forces and spend a century establishing the Unity. And things proceed from there.

So the qouri plans to control Riedra took 600 years total to put in place. 300 to sow discord which generated 200 years of conflict which took 100 years to resolve.

And for the last millenia the Quori have slowly and systematically destroyed all traces of previous Sarlonan culture, replacing it with their own monolithic and unchanging world view (hinder the dreams of the world, hinder the changing of Dal Quor). It's been quite effective too I might add, though with unforeseen consequences (Dreamspace).

So you're saying it took the quori 300 years to realize they're on Eberron?

Dec 29, 2008 16:36:10 The short answer to your question is yes. But remember, on Dal Quor, time does not flow the same as it does on Eberron. It took only a relatively short period of time for the quori to realize what their wayward brethren had done to escape the Plane of Dreams. But by the time time they moved to counter the rebels directly by entering the world physically in the form of the Inspired, 300 years had passed in the natural world and the kalashtar were already well-established in Adar. But don't forget, the quori also used those 300 years to initiate the Sundering and to arrange the marriages and births that would result in the creation of the Chosen vessels for quori possession.
