I'm working on converting the Forgotten Forge / Shadows of the Last War adventures (though likely not those beyond it).  Forgotten Forge I feel can be easily enough updated (though most of the encounters will be... different, to say the least), as can most of Shadows of the Last War.

However, I feel like Whitehearth itself is just... blah.  So I'm looking at some way to make it more interesting.

Has anyone else run an updated FF/SotLW?  I'd love to see what someone else has done with the encounters.  Also, if anyone else has run SotLW, have you done anything different with Whitehearth?  Spiced it up in some way?

I did this, and yeah Whitehearth is a little blah. Keep the Dire Wolf (and give her some companion regular wolves that she leads) my players really seemed to enjoy that - and its not too bad of a fight if they don't try and talk.
The water filling/revolving room has cool potential, but I am not sure how to implement it well, I didn't like the way it turned out when I ran it.
A couple of Blasted and collapsed tunnels, and less "find the colour-code key" stuff and it will be a lot more fun.

I'm considering "spicing up" the whole of Whitehearth by adding a flashback/vignette element to it.  Perhaps have the entire facility within some kind of field of wild illusion magic, "replaying" the last hours or days of the facility before the Mourning.  I don't know if I would have it just "play" around them, in snippets, or if it would be interactive to some degree.

A third-person teaser type vignette of Whitehearth at the Day of Mourning sounds like a great idea.
