Creepiest interpretation of the Lords of Dust

Greetings, all. What is the creepiest interpretation (as in, how you envision their goals/reach/power/influence/etc) of the Lords of Dust?

Right now, mine is that they're responsible for everything. As in, after the defeat of the Rajahs, the Lords:
-Manipulated research by Giant artificers to discover the planes, with the result that now the Quori "saw" the Material Plane, and tried to flee to it, thus provoking the Dream Wars that weakened the Giant empire.
-Manipulated events to cause the shattering of the Giant empire and Xen'Drik
-Contacted and enabled the Daelkyr to launch their invasion
-Worked against the Daelkyr to weaken them to let the Gatekeepers/Dhakhaani win (barely)
-Manipulated events in the Dhakaan Empire that lead to its destruction
-Influenced events in pre-Inspired Riedra to make Lhazaar go to Khorvaire
-By showing them a bit of the Prophecy, gave the House of Vol the idea that making a dragon-elf hybrid would end the Dragon Wars
-"Persuaded" the Dragonmarked Houses to launch the War of the Mark
-Advised Galifar in his bid to establish his nation
-Advised Jarot, made him weak and paranoid, thus leading to the Last War
-Orchestrated the Shadow Schism (Why is up to you, but for me, it's to enable a branch of that family to splinter off without notice)

In short, the Lords have conspired and manipulated events to enable the current power structure. Why?

Because humans are corruptible. In the present stage of cold war, all the nations will be paranoid of the other nations gaining an advantage, but desirous of such an advantage for themselves. Therefore, they will work to gain this advantage, potentially a world-shattering one, in order to fufill the requirements of the Draconic Prophecy....which the Lords will then use to complete their dark plans....

Discuss!

I don't really know how you can get anything more "creapy" than that... I for one would not enjoy (read I as a player would love too) be the one that unraveled that web of intrigue.

I guess when you're an immortal genius with a fiendish chip on your shoulder, making the lives of mortals a miserable living hell is all you can really do :P .

It seems bland to me to have a single power group behind all the trouble and machinations in the world. Why does this appeal to you?

I'm in agreement with this. Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's -- let the Dreaming Dark and the Blood of Vol have a slice of the evil pie too.

I'll admit, that is a problem. I mean, sure, the EC, DD, Aurum, and the Ashbound might have their inceptions arranged by the Lords, and they may spend the bulk of their time doing their own thing, but with a few operations that are to suit the purposes of the Lords.

As for why it appeals to me, well, i'm looking at a long-term campaign here. They start running into EC guys, and they're cracking their heads left and right. Farther down, they start playing with the Dark. Then, things start to weave together, and they find that there's something beyond these organizations. Very much how there could be a terrorist organization or crime family, with S.P.E.C.T.R.E. actually being the big bad.
