Daelkyr, Xoriat and the day it become coterminous

Jul 21, 2009 11:40:35 If I remember correctly, one day, Xoriat WILL become coterminous with Eberron. Im not sure, but that day the Daelkyr will be released and crazy stuff will happen.

A friend of mine asked me "when WILL Xoriat become coterminous again?". So I checked the Eberron calendar, made some calculations and looked at the Online Calender.

The second day of Lharvion, 9747 YK.

...must be boring beign a Daelkyr.

You forget, the seals don't just keep the Daelkyr on Eberron trapped, but also hold Xoriat at it's FURTHEST point in it's cycle from the real world.

I also hold, in my Eberron, the concept that if all the seals are destroyed, the halted motion of the plane of madness will snap back, and Xoriat will whip into conjunction, pretty much instantly.

Jul 21, 2009 12:57:31 Once the plane is freed, you could do something akin to what the inspired are doing with the monoliths. Find a way to anchor Xoriat permanently. Would make an interesting campaign for epic level characters.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Seals don't interfere with Xoriat's "orbit" at all, they just block it from being coterminus. Like, they wrap the material plane in saran wrap, keeping it fresh.

Only the Giants were able to interfere with a planar orbit, and they broke a moon to do it.

Also, realize that these are seals so all you can really infer is that they are sealing away Xoriat's influence. Also note that there are not giant-made seals that block Dal Quor's influence. They just chucked the plane out of alignment.

Jul 22, 2009 0:00:59 Keep in mind that when the Daelkyr invaded, they didn't appear all over Eberron, or even all over Khorvaire. The manifestation zones were largely restricted to western Khorvaire; in the lands that now make up the Shadow Marches, Droaam, Breland, etc.

These areas are also where Orcs (and the Gatekeeper faith) were/are most prominent, and where the majority of the seals are located.

Yes, all of Eberron is influenced by Xoriat, but only in these areas is the veil between the planes so weak that the forces of Xoriat can move through in numbers large enough to pose a threat. In addition to keeping the Daelkyr sealed, the seals help suppress the manifest zones that would allow more abominations to come through from Xoriat.

They have no impact on the plane itself, or even its effects on the rest of Eberron.
