DM looking for opinions on Eberron campaign plot.

I'm DMing an Eberron game and had an idea last night for a campaign plot that my players will run into at some point in the future. Due to story circumstances the PC's will get stranded in the Eldeen Reaches without means of teleporting out (they'll be around 9th/10th level, but have no mage). I thought to have them encounter an Orc Gatekeeper Druid and his surviving band of Druid initiates/aspirants who are making rounds stablizing the dimensional seals to Xoriat (via the 200 spell-level ceremony described in Faiths of Eberron). The problem is, another Gatekeeper who had been a sentry at one of the seals became corrupted by Xoriat's influence (also a concept from FoE) and now understands that nature could do with some artistic improvement. That individual is now a Planar Shepard (yes, I'm somewhat disregarding the entry prereq's and the sect it is initially tied to...) with the ability to plane shift to Xoriat 1/day.

The corrupted Druid has been bringing pseudonatural creatures to the area, and taking some native creatures to Xoriat so they can be altered by the delkyr (pseudonatural Wood Woads, specifically). He has also taken action against the band of Gatekeepers trying to stablize the dimensional seals, and killed off a sufficient number that they no longer can provide enough spell levels to perform the stabalization ceremony.

Enter the PC's, one of whom is a Shifter Druid of the gatekeeper sect, who upon reaching 9th level will enter the Moonspeaker Guardian PrC from Races of Eberron. There will be interracial tension with the orc Gatekeepers, but it is quite possible that the shifter druid will gain respect by aiding and allowing the ceremony to be completed.

Anyway, just looking for thoughts on this plot? Is it Eberron-appropriate? Am I altering the Planar Shepard too much?

Thanks for any critiques in advance.

No it sounds really good to me. Altering something to fit in with EB seems natural to me also.

Sounds great. Never be afraid to change anything written in any book to suit what you need for your game. You've got great ideas and I say run with them.

Looks fine to me. I mean, I would do it differently, but that's because I'm me and you are you.

Oh, any involvement of Vadalis? They're big in the Reaches, I though.

Out of curiosity, how would you do it differently? I'm never one to turn away ideas.

As of right now, no Vadalis involvement, as this will be in the deep western woods, and Vadalis is generally in the eastern portion of the Reaches.

Well, simply put, I probably wouldn't have any significant part of my game in the Reaches. I prefer other areas of Eberron. A short arc, probably, but nothing extended. Like I said, different tastes.

If I was playing in a game, though, and my DM ran that idea by me, i'd be like, "Sure."
