Ok, so who here has read and bleeping LOVED Doom of Kings? While I wouldn't want it officially incorporated into the setting as a TLA, I think I will actually have the events happen in my campaign, just because I think they are so cool. Don has done it again, not that I'm surprised after the Dragon Below trilogy. If this keeps up, I think it might supplant KB's trilogy as my favourite Eberron series.

personally, I anxiously await the next book. But as you said, I'm glad it will not incorporated.

Yes, the fact the setting is staying in 998YK pleases me as well, but this is an interesting look to where the setting may have gone. I believe this was started back when they were still planning the two year time advancement.

I fought hard against the time line advancement, but I fully admit that I intend to incorporate the events of this trilogy into my game if the next two books are anywhere near as good (and I know they will be). I just don't want that forced on everyone.

Chances are I will have my group working for Llesh Haruuc in order to quell a Gan'Duur uprising in Droam. Keeping in mind this will have been before the events in the book.

I've got to admit, I've read every Eberron novel I can get my hands on and this is in the top three so far. To appease the curious the other two are, The Darkwood Mask, and Rise of The Seventh Moon.

Don Bassingthwaite is awesome! Best Eberron novelist, IMO. Then it's Keith Baker of course. Oh, and the goblin glossary! Goblin language has never been kooler until now! Khaavolaar!

Can't wait for the next book.

"Raat shan gath'kal dor."

when I see that phrase, it reminds me of Dune's "The saga of Dune is far from over..." :D

I loved it as well. All the characters were great - now if we can get proper shifters in 4e (unlike those.. things we have now) I'll be happy. I can't wait for the bard class in 4e to play a Durr'kala. Ekhaas is awesome. Can't wait for her and Dagii to hook up, and make some hobgoblings. I'm betting Dagii will become the next Lhesh.

I've always liked Darguun, this novel just made it cooler. I may actually use the events in this book in my game - which the current hook has a heavy goblinesque story.

Oh, does anyone know why Don Bassingthwaite is so awesome? Because he's Canadian.

BTW, does anyone know when the next book or books are coming out yet?

Those are two I haven't, and am really interested in now that you say they're in your top 3!

But yeah, definitely wanting to work in some hooks re: Gan'duur tomfoolery.
